ISLAMABAD: All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC) leader and the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League (JKPL) in Indian occupied Kashmir (IoK) Mukhtar Ahmad Waza has said that the permanent peace in South Asia is not possible without resolving the IoK dispute in accordance with the Kashmiri's aspirations.

Mukhtar Ahmad Waza addressing his party activists in Srinagar stressed that the United Nations should play a constructive role in facilitating meaningful dialogue between Pakistan, India and the genuine leadership of Kashmiris for final settlement of the dispute, KMS reported. He said: "People of IoK are principal stakeholders in the IoK dispute and any settlement of the dispute should satisfy the aspirations of the Kashmiri people," Waza said and added that peaceful resolution of IoK dispute is in the interests of durable peace and stability in South Asia.

Stressed upon India and Pakistan to start meaningful and result-oriented dialogue process to settle the long-pending dispute, the APHC leader said Kashmiri people had been suffering for last 63 years and were badly affected. He appealed to the United Nations to impress upon India to revoke the draconian laws like Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA), withdraw its troops and release all illegally detained Kashmiri Hurriyet leaders and activists languishing in different jails and interrogation centres of India and the occupied territory.
