No control over operations of Army, ISI: govt

Once a proper and positive government is established, the Army needs to be brought under the government and ISI with equal power as Government.

Once ISI is under government control, there is NO WAY that it can operate normally.

What are the chances that a government in future will not be corrupt ?

1. It is not correct to give unaccountable power to any agency
2. It is not right to expect the army or the ISI will give away power when a "good" government will come in to power.

We'll see after Imran Khan cleans everything and minimizes chances or a corrupt government again.

Turkey did it. We can do it too.
Imran said once he gets the seat, he will bring the Armed Forces under government.

Vote of no confidence should be moved against the PM for this statement... He was this incompetent that he couldn't control the Army who follow chain of command and he didn't raise the issue that a non-representative of the people is running the Army for so many years? For 4 years HE kept approving their budget and paying them billions someone who is not under his control, thereby not under Pakistan's control?

Which is it? Vote of no confidence should be issued to first remove Gillani over this statement and then we can deal with the Army.

Thank god for the army. They are the country's only saviour.

For bhartis that would like to see a weak Pakistan, you must understand that the army and ISI keep the civilian government in check.

in a democracy, parliament is supreme , not even a constitutional body is above it . when has this ever been the case in Pakistan?

you have not experienced true democracy . 64 yrs on ,we still have not got a mature democracy in India , but all institutions are under civilian control. its the way it should be .
democracy is difficult and not the easy path to walk upon , but once taken does reward in the end .
far be it for me to tell my Pakistani friends what they should have in their country , but all i can say no democracy has fallen but military dictators often do .

is that you justification to keep these bodies above civilian control? are you telling me the army or the ISI have no corrupt people in it ? how do you expect any civilian government to function , take the right decisions or even take a hard stand on any issues when they fear for their lives and of being ousted? its humanly impossible for any one to work and perform under threat.

these political people should have resigned when they had witnessed that military is not in their control as its stated in our constitution.But these people preferred to loot the country and the poor people.If they had been clean then people of Pakistan would have stood with them as they did with chief Justice and ousted the powerful dictator.
