Nine people have been injured in a knife attack at a station in the Chinese city of Guangzhou, police say.

The attack happened on Friday morning. Police shot one suspect dead and caught another, a statement said.

No information was given on the possible motive for the attack.

In recent months there have been two attacks on stations in China, in Kunming and Urumqi. Authorities have blamed both on extremists from China's Uighur Muslim minority.

But other knife attacks, including on school children, have been blamed on people with personal grudges or mental health problems.

The BBC's John Sudworth in Shanghai says that although the motive for Friday's attack was not clear, the suspicion that it may be political in nature will be reinforced by the timing.

It comes just a day after China began its annual parliamentary session in Beijing.
The National People's Congress is where the Communist Party sets out its agenda for the coming year.

By providing other country problem won't solve yours. China need to give it's people equal rights and stop suppressing them.

They have more than equal rights. They have a number of rights that the other ethnic groups of China can only dream of: exemption from 1 child policy, university quotas, tax exemptions, government/bureaucrat hiring quotas, small business support, etc. We are prepared to offer them special rights to recognize and address the naturally vulnerable position of ethnic minorities. But these rights cannot extend to condone the commission of terrorism by a small but consequential minority of these ethnic groups

Anyway, I really don't understand how you can lecture us on minority rights when India's record is exponentially more shameful than China. India's 75% literacy is caused in part by targeted and institutional discrimination, designed to keep minorities and dalits illiterate so they become more obedient and make better slaves. And while Chinese security forces might take a firm, heavy-handed approach to counterterrorism, they at least have a sense of duty as public servants. Indian forces, on the hand, feel they operate in a state of anarchy, and that's why ethnic minority women complain:

This is bizzare
The terrorists' hot spots are train stations, People's squares ,,,
More crack downs and police patrols are needed

As usual Indians are throwing stones from a glass house.
Let me ask you something, Azizam since you are South Asian: is there a belief in Hinduism that says something like " if you dont see it, the "thing" or "happening" ...etc doesnt exist in the material world"?

White jade cauldron: 刘忠荣 Liu Zhongrong

Is this by the so-called peaceful and civilized freedom fighters the uighurs.

This is precisely what they are often labelled by the west, Turkey extremists and Indians ..

I apologise on his behalf the same 'Rights' & 'Minority oppression' thing is being done in my country & the last thing I expect from a Indian here is to troll on this subject
Whatever our differences maybe (on PDF in real life Sino-Indian relations are Neutral) India & many Indians support China's effort against dealing with this Terrorist threat

A very interesting way to see things
Anyways of this helps you reduce your tension & get a sense of superiority please post more like this

When someone posts a comment that "supports" Uighur independence, several Chinese members here reply that the comment is a troll and it gets deleted.

When a Chinese member expresses "support" for the independence of a minority group in the other country, other members will say the same thing but the Chinese counter-react to it by posting a similar but unrelated situation and original comment doesn't get deleted.
