I have that obsession too somewhat mitigated now by my love of aircraft, cars and ships though.

But trains were my unforgettable first love...it runs in the blood. My grandpa for example could list every single station (in order) from St. Petersburg To Vladivostok in the trans siberian (though that was a physical universe away from him, it was still a railway). Miss him dearly!...though he lives through my dad in some ways....including stories of how gramp's brother (MG steam loco pilot) would cook tapioca for a snack on the boiler from palani to CBE.

Sorry for not having seen the posts. Had lot on plate in last fortnight or so (family marriage functions etc).
My favorite thread on forum (one on IR) has been dismantled (probably the only place where i had anything meaningful to contribute), so all i do these days is read.
