Here's something that looks like my toy steam train. Mine is in a box in the attic.

Always wanted something like that, but my father was poor.

School summer holiday fair when I was a wee lad, we would have a gent each year that would bring, set up in the large open playground area and operate his miniature ridable train set ( i forgot what the class series size was called). It was oil-fired live steam like this:

Lucky to have sch toys, we always saw such toys in shops but we're not able to get those.

Well we (my siblings and I) were lucky to also live in a big house (even though my parents were not that well off) where there was a large walk up attic area where we could make a mess.

We had a car racing set which we had setup to jump the car over the train track in front of the train.

That figures; where else outside a golf course would you find so many bogies?

Probably a better scale. The bigger the train the more likely it will derail at speed in the corners due to their weight (the locomotives are heavy). Plus they pull apart the tracks. I really liked my train but I simply could not run it at full speed (which of course is exactly what every kid wants to do).

You can book Tickets in IRCTC but filled very quickly. I was been in this train 4 years before
