Unless Nigeria request a lot of sensor take off which lesser the price per unit. Chinese military vendor are very flexible when comes to pricing to cater to customers.

Roughly 152 million for unknown amount of vehicles of different types, so you could say it's a fairly good deal for all the modern vehicles. I expect a lot more equipment will be ordered from China in the future.

Nigeria receives VT4 main battle tanks from China

The Nigerian Army has taken delivery of a shipment of military vehicles from the China North Industries Corporation (NORINCO).

According to local sources, NORINCO delivered the first of 17 military vehicles compromising of VT4 main battle tanks, SH5 105mm wheeled self-propelled howitzers and ST1 tank destroys.

Taking delivery of the armaments Wednesday, Army’s Chief of Policy and Plans (CPPLANS) Lieutenant General Lamidi Adeosun said Nigerians should expect more robust operations to put behind the menace of insecurity including Boko Haram, banditry and others, according to thisdaylive.com.

He said the weapons were acquired through the Ministry of Defence, adding that adequate preparations were made for maintenance and availability of spare parts.

Adeosun said: “The process of acquiring this has been on for some time but thank God they are coming in now.

“From this, you can see how serious the Federal Government of Nigeria is in making sure that the Nigerian Army is not only equipped ,but contains problem of insecurity we are having across the country.

“This is being tackled with trained personnel and required equipment. What you are seeing here is just a tip of the iceberg. Others are still coming but it is very important that we all see that both the military and the government are really very serious to tackle the security problems across the nation.”

China needs a new tank to replace the VT 4 and Type-99.
ZTQ-15 is a reasonable choice. The era of tanks is over. The future belongs to UAV, robot al and cyber war. Instead of heavy and expensive tanks, China needs to be cheap, efficient, easy to maintain and upgrade.

VT4 is a great tank but Thailand selecting it over T90 irrespective of cost is I think more to do with politics and diplomacy my friend.... Thailand was initially more pro American and now days we see him more in China camp.... so it's either USA or China when it comes to Thailand..... they were never close to Russia anyways..... so buying weapons from China suits their policies.... don't you think?
