Next BrahMos missile targets Mach 7, integration with SU30MKI completed

Don't worry the US has a counter for it in the RIM-162 ESSM (Mach 4+) :azn:

Tom I longed to ask you...

Can the ESSM intercept BrahMos most of the time? Or just in some instances?

SeaSparrows were designed especially for use against sea-skimming missiles
like Klub (which do a supersonic "sprint" in the final stages towards a target), can it be effective against
high-flying missiles like BrahMos (can reach 15km altitude), flies s-sonic throughout the cruise and
dive trajectories and is more maneuverable than Klub? Plz explain...info on Wiki is quite blurry,
not reliable at some points...

Raytheons own brochure on the missile states it was specificly designed for threats such as the Brahmos and SS-N-22. Of course no missile is 100% effective. and other factors would be angle of attack and capabilities of sensors to track and lock targets. So far no competitors has anything comparable to the Aegis systems capabilities. it can track and lock hundreds of targets at once. It can even use the sensors from forward aircraft such as the f-35, and AWACS, as well as sattelites in plotting solutions.

Does the US have something similar or more advanced than the BrahMos Missile?

Well, most of their cruise missiles are subsonic, but have a very long range. India is making something along those lines as well, but few can compete with the BrahMos in speed.

Imagine FGFA with BrahMos Match 7...... Would be deadly....
