ISLAMABAD, Pakistan Pakistan's newly elected Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani says he will seek the immediate release of judges detained since President Pervez Musharraf declared a state of emergency in November.
Gilani also says he will seek to pass a resolution demanding a U.N. probe into the assassination of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.
Gilani made the pledges during his first speech to parliament after lawmakers elected him to lead a new government.
Gilani is from Bhutto's party, which swept to victory in elections last month and dealt a crushing defeat to the allies of President Pervez Musharraf.
