Question: Do our JFTs have enough range to effectively CAP / thwart IAF on our eastern border from Samungali? This will perhaps be one of the few airbases that will not be neutralized in first 2-3 days of war.

Sorry if this has been answered before.

Even if we consider combat range to be around a 1000km (and we know it is more/combat radius is around 1400km as per various articles) it still gives the plane enough range to strike at sea.

PLUS, they can always choose not to return to Samungali anyway, thus increase strike range even further.

PLUS, the most important point, Squadron 28 is being equipped with Blk-II JF-17s, that is, the ones with IFR capability

If you watch this video carefully you will find one jet is smoking like a hell and the other one is smokeless.
