New Armour for BMP-2

.
I love Russian arms, I think they the most good looking. And if you must choose a pretty APC to get killed by, this is what I recommend for you::coffee:

Personally I like their AB14 Temsah better.

Passive Armour is used. The net used here was used before by American forces in Iraq and Afghanistan to reduce the damage caused by UATM/ATGM. Russians learn things later. It seems that they considered this over destroying large numbers of this kind of IFVs in Syria.

BMP-2 were long obsolete (25 years ago), long before the war in Syria started, there is no point in upgrading them, BMP-2 and all other Soviet era Junk will be replaced by a new generation of advanced armored designs starting in 2015.

MAP 1/2 is an APC while Temsah is an IFV.

The difference is marginal in these two cases (I'm sure you can stick a remote mount onto both and neither has hull openings from which infantry can use their own weapons)

You could say that also of e.g. M113, yet many many nations still have it in inventory. And hence modernizations are in demand (so long as it remains cost effective to upgrade rather than replace: new vehicles are far more expensive and so long as modernization keeps existing fleet relevant this will be adopted)
