The USAF can deploy the F-22 during Aero India if they want but them being deployed to provide air cover for Obama inside Indian airspace is out of the question. The IAF protects Indian airspace, they aren't going to hand this job over to anyone else nor do they need to. MKIs and MiG-29s are usually used for this role and perhaps the IAF deploys the PHALCON AWACS (they wouldn't admit if they did). This is more than enough.

All precautions have to be taken the threat can come from anywhere. It is common practice to have air cover for such events be it US President/Indian PM inaugurations, Olympics, World Cup tournaments etc etc this is the world we live in now.

India hardly "relies" on American Military equipment, Pakistan on the other hand.....

It's true that no one is allowed to carry a weapon around the US President other than the Secret Service, but i'm sure that rule is disregarded when it comes to the American Special Forces.

Modi's gaurds will also have weapons. I thing the rule will be only if no other head of state is there
