The Israeli PM says that he has at least five ideas in mind for Donald Trump, whose “support for Israel is clear,” to help the US president-elect undermine the nuclear deal with Iran, which, according to Netanyahu, removed the last obstacles in front of Tehran in its “rush for the bomb.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the US President-elect would be a good friend to Israel, despite all the accusations of bigotry and anti-Semitism surrounding Donald Trump and his team.

“I know Donald Trump,” Netanyahu told CBS' 60 Minutes. “And I think his attitude, his support for Israel is clear. He feels very warmly about the Jewish state, about the Jewish people. There’s no question about that.”

Netanyahu’s main difference of opinion with President Obama was on the matter of Iran and its nuclear program. It wasn’t personal though, since they had “had the greatest of personal chemistry,” Netanyahu told CBS.

The outgoing US president praised the 2015 nuclear deal with Iran as a means by which to halt Iran’s alleged drive to develop nuclear weapons. President-elect Trump called the agreement a “disaster” and “the worst deal ever negotiated” while campaigning for the White House. He even stated that dismantling the deal would be his “number one priority” as he entered office.

Trump’s approach to the Iran nuclear program will strengthen US-Israel relations and make them really amicable, Netanyahu said.

The deal has to be undone since, according to the Israeli PM, it has opened opportunities for Iran to develop nuclear weaponry. “I think Iran didn’t rush to the bomb before there was a deal, because they were afraid of retribution,” Netanyahu said.

Netanyahu has “about five things in his mind” that could undo the deal. He refused to tell CBS even one of them, stating that he would “like to talk to the president before I talk to 60 Minutes.”

If the deal is reversed, there still would be “many more” options to prevent Iran from allegedly manufacturing nuclear weapons, according to Netanyahu.

In December, the US Senate voted unanimously to renew the Iran Sanctions Act (ISA) for another decade. It was described as a symbolic move, but it allows the president to impose new restrictions on Tehran if it violates the 2015 nuclear accord.

The agreement between Tehran and six major world powers strictly limited the capabilities of the country’s nuclear problem in exchange for lifting international sanctions.

Iran agreed to reduce the number of its centrifuges by two-thirds, cap its uranium enrichment below the level needed for weapons-grade material, reduce its enriched uranium stockpile from around 10,000kg to 300kg for 15 years, and allow international inspections.

Yes, that is indeed the irony! It will be a divine justice for those massacred in Aleppo by the assad terrorists.

I don't know what to think anymore. The Iranians convinced me that Trump and Russia, Iran would save the world from Israel and NATO.
I feel cheated :(

Which Iranians promised you that? o_O

My good Iranians friends of PDF did. :(

Which Iranians promised you that? o_O They must have not watched a single minute of the US campaign coverage on TV. Trump made it perfectly clear that one of his first acts as president, in foreign policy, would be the immediate scrapping of the "Iran deal". Russia is a different matter. There, he will no doubt thaw relations with Putin.

Iranians here (Mullah supporters) were supporting Trump because of his supposed hostile stance against KSA/GCC/much of the Arab world which so far has proven to be nothing else than nonsense. Turns out that the same Trump has/had more businesses in the GCC than anywhere else outside of the US and that most of his staff was/is pro-GCC. So much for a dramatic change in policy on this front.

Anyway I do not think that the US will attack Iran. At most target nuclear installations in cooperation with Israel if the nuclear deal turns sour.

Anyway France/West should be blamed for hosting many of those Mullah's to begin with. Should never have happened. Similar to how the same West hosted Iraqi Mullah's that took power when Saddam was removed which again confirms how the West uses Islamists and all other fractions for their own gains/depending on the situation. This is not a good policy on the long run. Only short-term gains.

The most prominent Saudi Arabian opposition Islamists and opposition figures live, you guessed it right, in the West (UK and US mainly). Anyway politics are dirty but sometimes the Western elites should think twice before doing what they are doing. Muslim countries (all countries of a significance) have the same behavior so nobody is a saint.

Anyway my policy is that each country should be independent and that the outside world should not interfere unless that particular country threatens the security of their region/the world or if the regime in power is guilty of serious abuses of their own population.

Anyway Russia and Iran are traditional enemies (Russia conquered Qajar-controlled areas of Caucasus less than 200 years ago) and have conflicting interests.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russo-Persian_Wars

Russia/Soviet Union also invaded Iran during WW2 together with the Brits.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anglo-Soviet_invasion_of_Iran

The only thing they share in common in Syria is wanting Assad to remain in power but they want different things in Syria to begin with. The Mullah's are interested in keeping a corridor to Hezbollah and creating proxies while Russia is desperate to keep a political and military foothold in the Near East which Syria (Al-Assad regime rather) represents as the only pro-Russian country in the immediate region.

So that is the current situation.

As far as Israel's position goes we all know about it. Pre-Mullah's or even before the current hostilities the Israelis were mostly worried about Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Iraq (bombing the Iraqi nuclear reactor), Libya etc. Any state that threatened them in any shape or form. Back then Israel and Iran were allies.

The biggest worry for iran is not trump, he is a bigoted orange moron for sure but the deal iran got wasent just between them and the USA it included alot of other nations

Now in place scrapping or changing the deal without getting everybody on board is difficult

Acting unilaterally only has limited effect

Much of the political world think Trump is a idiot anyway and without a viable alternative plan which dosent included blatant threats and warmongering he is stuck

So no I don't think iran has too much to worry about although the USA under a idiot like Trump could be unpredictable

I will say one think as long as it has Russian support iran should be ok, but its actions in Syria have decimated Iranian standing and burnt many bridges

I have been telling the Persians on this forum that this nuke deal is like signing on the death warrant. But for them mullah regime cant do any wrong. Just like for Indians, the Hindu terrorist Modi is always right. People are gullible and wont learn form history. Qaddafi did the same thing, hand over his nuke program in a hope for trade and economy, ended up on streets of Libya with people poking some nasty stuff in his behind.

I really hate to say this, but Trump is bad omen for Iran. The nuke deal is going to be ditched as soon as Trump enters the White House. It doesn't look good at all.

sure they are against peace ...

Who are that 'they', the ones you prayed so hard to be in the White House or the US in general?

The Iranian Ayatullahs thought they could outsmart the Great Satan by pretending to be the mini Satan.
