need help,,,

I bought couple of AA rechargeable (pencil) batteries n charger,,,started initial charging as advised by d shopkeeper,,,,problm is I forgot to unplgg thm,,,nobody is at home,,,n I will be out for gud 4-5 days,,,is the any chance of thm exploding or anythng due to overcharging??

going back is not a possibilty,,,atmost can call an electrician to try cutting the power tomorrow morng,,,,yaar tension ho gayi

I never take them off from charger, when I used to have them, for my camera... may be once in a while when I actually used camera, I remove them from charger.
dont worry, they wont explode, unless they are chinese...

Most of the battery chargers are now smart enough to automatically cut off supply when fully charged. \Dont worry abt explosion but still connecting them for long time may decrease their performance.

PS if they explode, please let us know

batteries ,,made in Indonesia,,,,about autocut,,I am not sure.
already called electrician,,,told him to take a look tomorrow,,got a brief lecture frm mom abt being responsible

Worry not- if the batteries explode you can always buy new ones- they are cheap -

I am sorry i saw ur notification just now.
Under normal circumstances it wont explode. I had done something similar. Once I had forgotten to take the cam and the batteries which were put on charging before leaving for a trip to sharjah. Thankfully nothing had happened when i returned home 3 days later.
Only the old and used batteries have higher chances of exploding. You can approach your neighbours or friend who live near by.

new issue--
i want to buy a new 1.5ton split A/C,,,my old window A/C is too power hungry, noisy,maintenance intensive.
what shud i buy,,,a frnd told me to buy one with copper coil instead of aluminium,,,,,,is it ok to buy one with PFC? which condenser coil unit is important,,,the main unit or outdoor unit,,,what about power ratings,,,3 star or 5 star

They won't.
I tend to forget those rechargeable as well & you know it why.
If the charger is placed indoors which is the their expected place then, you do not need to worry.

Concentrate on your work.
Don't think about the fireworks.
BTW i use the eneloop AA and AAA.
I have used both the Zinc and nickel -MH ones etc .And some Green Chinese variants/energizer that stay in my solar charger and those remain there for a week or so.
And my max "tend to forget" period is one week.
No explosions so for.
Why ?
Because most of the smart chargers these days have actually been designed to detect when a NiMH,Ni-Cd battery is fully charged and then shut off or go into a trickle charge mode.
