What's new

Need advise regarding apartment

is it a new apartment block or are people already living with a functional gym people frequent ? generally, I've noticed these in house apartment gyms aren't too frequented because :
- not everyone works out
- these sorts of gyms are exclusive to residents only

so unless it's a health freak community, probably not too much to worry about

Yes it is a new apartment and it will be handed over in 8 months. It is exclusive to residents only and we have a total of 68 apartments in the building.

and if it does become a problem there will be others on the same floor who would have a problem too, nothing a small complaint/request won't fix because it is paid for, maintained and for exclusive use by the residents.

good luck

Others maynot have coz each apartment is separated by a fair distance. We'll be having no common walls and each apartment is approx 5 feet away from each other. My major concern is the music. Since the speakers will be fixed right below my floor to their ceiling. When people come at 5 am in the morning and start working out, i'm afraid I might be disturbed. And some people will work out as late as 10 in the night. They too will turn on music, run on treadmill etc. So, a bit concerned.

Thanks for your wishes. :)

yes it will be a problem. you would have to invest in thick coir carpet to drown out noise.

talk about it with the builders and the management. congrats !!!
Yes I've already spoken. They said it wont be a problem. But that was before I bought that flat. Maybe they told me like that to sell. I've read complaints on the internet regarding the issue. So, was worried.

My apartment is on the 2nd floor with 5 floors total and 14 flats per floor. Gym on the first floor and swimming pool on the ground floor. Most gyms have loud music playing and generally the speakers will be attached to the ceiling. Here, gym's ceiling would be my floor. So the concern. Location is hyderabad.

Go up .

I have just booked a flat on the 25th floor. Have got tired of hearing sounds like cars starting up, car alarms going off, those silly squeaky horns people attach to indicate cars when in reverse gear and drivers / cleaners chatting .

If there's an elevator(13 mtrs plus mandatory anyway), moving up is good, 4th/3rd floor will be good enough. Congratulations anyway.

@StormShadow in our apartment, its not much of a problem. Generally the gyms have false roof which absorb the sound much more. Not to mention that gyms are not that used in apartments(depends on number of units ofcourse)
I'd not worry about the gym being downstairs that much.

Yes...two lifts are provided with generator backup. Thank you.

Hello guys...I need an advice from you people regarding an apartment we are buying. We have already booked one last month. Below our apartment lies a gym...and below that will be a swimming pool. Will there be any problem having a house directly over a gym/fitness club like people play loud music, work on the treadmill, through dumbbells on the floor etc? I thought these will not be an issue as I would stay above the gym but not below. But I have recently come across reports of the above said problems. Should I move another floor up? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks

1. Gym
if its good /hi end gym.. they genrally have sound barries .. and even they dont put VERY loud music too..

2. get the real picture..
ask wahtman and neighbour and secretary about any complaints issue before

3.try to contact gym reagrding issue ...if they solve it .. then no issue.

4.if not.. you can simple put some sound barring interior is its cheap and easily accomodating in your aprtment setting

Yes...it has a false ceiling and it's an A/C gym so i guess it would be closed mostly. By real concern is music. That rock music early in the morning is real real concern for me bro. Sometimes I sleep at 3 in the morning . And after a tiring day at work, when you get back home and there's loud music, then i'd have a real hard time...so was just concerned.

I've been told it would be a pretty good gym with all equipments. But I doubt it would be as hi-end as installing sound proofing systems.

As for the real picture, I cant get it since it's a new venture and will be handed out after 8 months.

yes it will be a problem ! they just told that. it is nott a temporary problem. or invest in heavy coir carpeting which acts as a good dampner of sound but is a huge maintainence problem. be adament about a change. as early as possible. good luck !
