On December 10, 2019, the Dutch procurement office DMO (Defense Materiel Organization) took over the first two bridge armored vehicles Iguana from Krauss-Maffei Wegmann. In a cooperation agreed in 2016, Germany ordered seven and the Netherlands eight Combat Support Bridge (CSB) iguana. The systems should be completely handed over to the respective users by the end of 2021.

In the middle of 2018, Germany had received a detection and training demonstrator (NuAD) of the Iguana bridge system. In 2019, the supply of serial copies has begun.
The bridges of the iguana are made of high-strength aluminum and can be loaded with vehicles up to a military load class (MLC) 80.

The GFB is an armored bridge-laying system with a Leopard 2 chassis as a girder, two relocatable bridges of 14 meters each and a bridge with a length of 26 meters. The bridges of the KMW type Iguana are made of high-strength aluminum and can be loaded with vehicles up to a military load class (MLC) 80 (depending on the vehicle up to approx. 80 tons). The system also includes a protected tractor-trailer for transporting the bridge elements and a computer-aided training facility.

The GFB have great importance for the VJTF. Much of the possible uses of the spearhead of NATO in Eastern Europe is characterized by a multitude of waters, often crossed by inadequate road bridges.
