As per law clause 3e a public office holder or his dependents if unable to prove trail of assets it is understood that the asset is acquired via corruption.

The law is clear, people might say otherwise to earn brownie points but Mr Nawaz is declared corrupt, he was given more chances than should have been to avoid this but things got worse and the lies kept coming.

Personally all he had to do was apologize when this mess started and promise to return his wealth to Pakistan and he would have still held moral ground and the people could have forgiven him. Unfortunately he had terrible advisers.

Now, I will add a few things that may make a few people sad but those are ugly facts which we need to know. I have recently started to go through some of the reports, verdicts and laws in Pakistan. I have found a disturbing common denominator among all of them that someone, somehow leaves some loopholes. I won't go into details of other cases and reports to motivate my comment rather directly would say that NAB has deliberately has tried to weaken the case..Loopholes are there to exploit. Hudaibya case was just one such example. Even in this case, NAB prosecutor has done a bad job. However, there is no reason to worry since this case was decided by the accountability court appointed by the SC and if the judge Athar does try to exploit those loopholes, his decision will be overturned by the SC.

However, we need to investigate and isolate the items that seed these viruses into the case.
