Not to say that EDHI Sahab did a bad thing or it in anyway undermines his achievements as a Philanthropist, but he tried to run for elections twice, once during Ayub era in 1965 and then in 1970 from Lyari and lost both times.

Edhi wasn't a professional sportsman or world renowned celebrity. They are both great human beings in their own right. We shouldn't compare apples and oranges.
2nd point. Although you are probably correct in your assertion that IK's political profile was enhanced by his involvement with SKCH, It'd be a bit of a stretch to bring it into the category of personal gain or benefit.

Cm was supposed to built a cancer hospital. That was not IK’s duty to start with. IK did it, and CM just provuded land which was the property of Government, and money which again was property of government. And thats it. ANP led KPK government provided land for SKMH-peshawar along 5 crore check from Provincial government side , but you dont see Amer haidar khan hoti using it for politics or repeating “i give the land i give the money”. As he know it was not his land or money to start with.

About the home/plot, again that was a gift for his victory in cricket. And plot not only for IK but for all team players. That again, from National wealth not Jati-umra.
