Can't have both. The Sharif's picked this particular flight (with a several hours layover) and announced it well in advance so they could arrive at a convenient time in Pakistan (6:45PM) for protests to be organized and people to show up.

The only thing now is picking an approach that minimizes the chaos and has the least risk of blowing out of control - trying to take Nawaz Sharif by land out of the airport through who knows how many protesters will be a huge headache and security risk. There is also the potential of the TTP trying to pull of another "Benazir Bhutto style terrorist attack', which will have huge repercussions for the country and its stability.

If the government cannot secure small protests it should simply resign.

Its not 2007. Its 2018.

They should not be allowed to make a public and media show..FIA should stamp their passports on the run way and a helicopter should be ready on Runway to board them and take directly to Adiyala Jail.

The government can secure a small protest, provided the protesters remain within pre-defined limits. When in Pakistan did protesters ever stay within defined limits? Are these protesters going to stay behind some 'chalk line' once they see Nawaz Sharif?

Preparations need to be made for the reality that is Pakistan today, and not a reality we wish existed. The reality that is Pakistan today is that charged political protests get out of control, do not stay within their limits, cause chaos, and it is in that chaos caused by potentially thousands that terrorists can sneak in and attack.

After 5 years of protest. I think the machinery should know how to deal with this.

There are protests all the Time. No one will ever know if there is a Media Blackout.

Why play into dumb political Rhetoric over rule of law.

Technically the government should be Smart enough to have him arrested even before his arrival but No birdbrain ever think like this.

Its called the government for a reason. Its heavy machinery capable of moulding World maps.

Shameless paindu Zombie pets of corrupt thieves and looters will no doubt create chaos because their Daku Rani and Godfather plus Safdar chances of contesting in the 2018 elections is dead after their convictions by the accountability court. They must be not be allowed to create chaos as Safdar has tried.
