It is true that many Urdu speaking Bihari/UP Muslims were highly educated and respected in Calcutta/Bombay that time. They were in many respected profession like judge, law year etc. But it is also true that some (not all) Urdu speaking Muslims who were workers in different industries in Bengal assumed major role in Calcutta and Noyakhali killing. After independence they mostly went to East/west Pakistan. They supported Pakistan whole heartedly during Bangladesh war too. In March 1971 the "genocide" happened in Bangladesh, many blamed Bihari Muslims of Bangladesh for this. After independence of Bangladesh, these people stuck there with a great misfortune without any citizenship even. Pakistan also refused to take them back.

Skewed or not, im just calculated per capita of Up bihar from official Indian sources. North west was going to be independent one way or another. Bacha Khan was fighting for independent KPK and there was also united punjabi party of sikhs, hindus and muslims who also wanted to separate and be independent.
