ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday discussed the political situation with his ally Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PMAP) Chief Mahmood Khan Achakzai as the Supreme Court’s verdict in Panama Papers Case is around the corner.
In the meeting held in Islamabad today, both the leader held a discussion regarding the political matters.
In addition, development projects of Balochistan also came under discussion the meeting.
The meeting took place hours after the three-member Implementation Bench of the Supreme Court headed by Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan reserved its judgement in Panama Papers Case.
Besides the PMAP, political allies of ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N); Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F), Pakistan Muslim League-Zia (PML-Z), Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) and Awami National Party (ANP) have throughout been supportive to the prime minister in Panama Papers Case.
According to political and legal experts, the prime minister’s disqualification in Panama Case cannot be ruled out, and Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed also assured in his remarks that the prime minister’s disqualification would be considered prior to announcement of final verdict.
Separately, the prime minister also held a consultative meeting with PML-N leaders and lawyers to chalk out a strategy as how to deal with the situation in the wake of Panama verdict.
Nawaz directs fast track improvements in service delivery at airports
The prime minister also presided a meeting on matters pertaining to Civil Aviation today, during which he directed fast track improvements in service delivery for passengers at the national airports.
The prime minister directed that the facilities should be made at par with the major international airports in the world.

Nawaz Sharif also directed that the time-line for completion of projects should be adhered to and no compromise be made on quality of work. He further directed that all projects be undertaken with utmost transparency.
During the meeting the Advisor to Prime Minister on Aviation Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan and Director General Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) briefed the prime minister on various ongoing projects, particularly the New Islamabad International Airport.
