Vice Chief of Naval Staff, VAdm Robin Dhowan sat journalists down for a briefing on India's first indigenous aircraft carrier, the new Vikrant-class, earlier this week. Here's the presentation he made.

Plan is to commission it on late 2018 but by Indian standard it may take another year to validate it.

Thats not new already it has planned to 20 fixed wing & 10 rotary wing aircraft would resides on it.
In fixed wing 12 would be MIG-29K & 8 N-LCA.

Both can use them but if they are full loaded then they would takeoff from ski jump & if they are only routine sortie with less load then they can use long runway.
