Navy’s Tejas fighter revs for take-off

Naval chief was complaining Naval LCA was neglected for air force version..

Now that N-LCA set to fly in march .. wht happened to LCA-LSP7 ?

If IAF had shown a quarter of this interest in 90s, that IN is showing now in Naval Tejas, we'd have had the jet up and running.

What do you mean? Nothing will happen to it. The N-LCA program is running in parallel to the original LCA program and the LSP-7 will be completing its test objectives independently of the N-LCA prototype. The LCA program has numerous pilots from the IAF ASTE aswell as technicians and maintenance crews to fly all the LCAs they need to.

Good to see IN taking genuine & active interest in N-LCAs unlike IAF, who had always been very choosy vis-a-vis our first attempt at a indegeous fighter AC.

Tejas Navy Variant : Twin- and single-seat carrier-capable variants for the Indian Navy. The LCA's naval variant is to be ready for carrier trials by 2013 and is slated for deployment on the INS Vikramaditya as well as the Vikrant class aircraft carrier. It will be equipped for carrier operation with ski-jump take-off and arrested landing. It will include strengthened airframe and landing gear and the nose is drooped for better cockpit vision.fighters will be powered by General Electric GE F-404 engines. Meanwhile, ADA has selected the more advanced and powerful GE F-414 engine for the LCA Mark II. This engine will also power future Naval LCAs. With 15 per cent more thrust, the GE F-414 will be useful in taking off from an aircraft carrier deck.

Good Luck......see u soon in tri colour....
