Considering the economic turmoil country is facing I doubt any more purchase would be approved
The current stock or plan for purchase is sufficient till 2025
The objectives for a improvement in Navy would be met
4 Type 054
8 Submarines
4 Milgem
3 OPV Dutch Ships
Azmat Platform
In the next few years of economy improves, let's just say, you ain't seen nothing yet.

Not that it means anything, but of the three ships the PLAN sent to Pakistan for official visits -- i.e. Yuan SSP, Type 054A, and Type 052C -- the PN ordered the export variant of two of them.I think so as well. I believe we will see a culmination of a couple of things here, firstly the good governance effect, which will increase confidence amongst consumers and firms, secondly the completion of all the CPEC energy projects which will address business needs for round the clock power.
I think the logical step will be for the PN to go for a further four Type54, or look for an earlier variant of the Type52 destroyer, as the latest of that class are very expensive ships.

Oh you got me going now lol. That's crazy, I was just looking at the specs of the Type 052C and thought "that's an affordable and fantastic ship, I wonder if the PN thinks the same".
The future I hope.
Two Type 052C (or D) would be interesting; a 1 052C/D + 2 054A/P + 2 F-22P squadron posted at guarding SLOCs to Karachi and Gwadar each. If the PN pushes its Damen OPV 1900 fleet to 6, it could pair a MILGEM Ada to 2 OPVs for littoral defence. The only loose variable would be the Jinnah-class frigate, and I suspect that will the basis of the PN's new mainstay frigate (if long-term funding allows) to replace the F-22P and further fleet numbers.A few months ago on Sino defence, there was quite a bit of talk about Type 052C and a couple of Chinese members were saying that PN had already placed an order for 2 x Type 052C.

MILGEM Ada + OPV for dedicated ASW in littoral waters; but each of the PN's other ships -- i.e. 054A, F-22P, Jinnah-class -- will have ASW as well. What about ASW capability ?
