Grass needs solar energy to grow. Any efficient solar panel will be taking the bulk of this energy before it reaches the ground. The only energy under the panels will be from indirect reflected light. Some shade tolerant weeds and grasses will surely grow but in very low amount.Don't know if it is ok or some extra measures are taken!

This properly suits to how they had managed to carry out such tough project with proper planning during the huge flood we had in Tamilnadu..

i knwo about that.. but point si barren land w.d be dusty and then cleaning of panels w'd be required everyday as layers of dust wd reduce efficiency gravely...

i saw that too.. my point was.. as solar cells on avg 15 % efficient so 85 % sun photons just heat up the panels.. so there cd be a way to divert rest to ground like convex edges... or space between adjacent panels.. etc etc.. its like having filed plus orchard.. like this
