Nation has high hopes from CII for 'Islamisation' of country's laws, says president

President Mamnoon Hussain on Friday said that the nation had high hopes from the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) with respect to the "Islamisation" of the country's laws.

He made the remark during a meeting with Allah Bakhsh Kalyar, one of the newly appointed members of the institution.

The president congratulated Kalyar on his appointment and expressed hope that he would meet the people's expectations as a member of the institution.

Kalyar, who was appointed earlier this month, thanked the president for entrusting him with the responsibility and vowed that he would work diligently during his three-year tenure.

The CII should be disbanded, and banished forever, in my view. The sooner, the better. And bury the Markazee-Rouet-e-Hilal drama right alongside it.

I agree. The federal shariah court already oversees the process of laws being Islamic or nor so this is a money waster especially considering yow the govt doesn't care much about their opinion especially in recent bills.

As for the the rouet e hilal. Tch. I can't believe we still have it.... Absolute waste of resources

But why does the government continue to pander to such purveyors of ignorance? For their own benefit, of course. The public continue to be the chumps.

Well most Muslims of Pakistan want an Islamic state so what is the problem?
An "Islamic state" is incompatible with equal treatment under the law of all of Pakistan's citizens. Islamic law does not offer equal treatment to, for example, Christian or Ahmadiyya citizens. Therefore, an Islamic state is a recipe for either civil turmoil or religious cleansing of the non-Islamic population of Pakistan.

The only multi-ethnic or multi-religious state that has any chance of harmony is one in which the civil laws are secular. Muslims must learn to accept separation of mosque and state.

it is compatible it is plural ruling, everybody lives according to their scripture law. you talking about Saudi crazy Zionist shariah. i am for system that will throw out imf/world bank, and we mint our own currency/coins. no usury.

Actually in an Islamic state, minorities would get fair treatment.

That is where you are wrong.

Ahmadis are not Muslims and will not be considered Muslims in an Islamic state.
