For those who dont know the meaning...

Apne karam kee kar ataayein
Yaaraa, Yaaraa.. yaaraa..

Bless me with your grace..
O dear.. O dear.. O love..

Mujh ko iraade de
Kasmein de, vaade de
Meri duaaon ke ishaaron ko sahaare de
Dil ko thikaaney de
Naye bahaaney de
Khwaabon ki baarishon ko
Mausam ke paimaane de
Apne karam ki kar ataayein
Kar de idhar bhi tu nigaahein

Give me intentions..
Give me promises, guarantees,
Support the signs of my prayers..
Give shelter to the heart..
Give some new excuses,
Give the peg of weathers
to the rains of dreams..
Bless me with your grace..
Look this way too..

Sun rahaa hai naa tu
Ro rahaa hoon main
Sun raha hai naa tu
Kyun ro raha hoon main

You're listening, right?
I am crying here..
You're listening to me right..
Why I am crying here..

Manzilein ruswa hain
Khoyaa hai raasta
Aaye le jaaye
Itni si iltijaa
Ye meri zamaanat hai
Tu meri amaanat hai..
Haan..

destinations are angry..
the path is lost..
(Someone, you actually) comes n takes me away
only this is my small wish..
This is my surety,
you're mine..

Apne karam ki kar ataayein
Kar de idhar bhi tu nigaahein
Sun raha hai naa tu..

Waqt bhi thehra hai
Kaise kyoon ye huaa
Kaash tuu aise aaye
Jaise koi duaa
Tu rooh kee raahat hai
Tu meri ibaadat hai..

Time is stopped too,
How and why it happened..
May you just come
like some prayer..
You're the peace of soul..
You're my prayer..

Apne karam ki kar atayein
Kar de idhar bhi tu nigahein
Sun raha hai naa tu..

Yaaraaa..
O Love..

Ap kyon ro rahe ho?????:P

There's nothing sacred about land, so I've never gotten the whole land-based nationalism thing as a means of equality, quite simply, it's people-based. People have different views, opinions and spectrum; that doesn't mean they deserve any less of my respect. It's upto you what you want to class yourself as, as I said, it's your political opinion; that doesn't make a difference at the personal level.

What the foOk happened to the thread ?

Who said mine was 'land-based nationalism' ? I look upon ethno-linguistic nationalism with the same contempt as I would with any form of 'geographical nationalism' !

My love for Pakistan is based on what I believe was the raison-detre of the country & the ideology that was supposed to manifest itself here - Even though we've pisssed on most of it....I still get to see glimpses of it here & there every single day ! And it is precisely because of that do I love the country & its people & I'm proud to call them my family. Anyone who believes in 'Muslim Brotherhood' as the glue that should bind us is my brother & anyone who doesn't & instead chooses to exalt a particular ethnicity, language or geographical position as the basis for Nationhood, isn't - Now that doesn't mean that I think bad about them or anything.....I just don't like them enough to call them 'My People' even if they are related to me by blood because for me Pakistan is not 'political' its quite 'personal'.

Heck I haven't even talked to 3 of my Pro-Independence cousins since I punched one of them in the face for saying some sh*t about Pakistan, maybe 15 years back !

Land and ideology, I guess then (originally, it was more of a general comment). I disagree with your actions, though, whatever somebody else may think, unless it is horrendously ugly and inhumane, I will not resort to violence or anything of the sort - logical reasoning, debate and understanding are the way forward for any progressive entity or person. You have to accept others have a different opinion, but not look down on them any differently as a person. Muslim brotherhood - I believe in it strongly, but using it in the context of modern politics is wrong - it does have a place, framing the framework of nations as Islamic like Jinnah envisioned is wholly agreeable and desired, but there's a limit to it - when you ("you" as in a general "you") start using it as leverage in political matters, it becomes wrong, brotherhood is above that. One may be a leftist in the modern context, another a rightest, but they are both muslims and the sense of brotherhood stretches to both, else we become tribalists.

Kashmiriyat has no drumbeat, is has no great chest thumping at heart. It's about communities, people, the shared struggle, compassion. It goes beyond and has existed before the conflict. It's the base that must be developed from, not something that people (again, generalism) can pick-and-choose and edit to their like. It will develop, but that is over time, with the sentiment of the people, all the people - Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Buddhist.

Hope you don't take this to heart, I thoroughly enjoy discussing ideology, politics, and so on with you as I value your opinion and intellect. I debate with you the same way I debate with my close real life friends, and we disagree on a plethora of issues. I guess, ultimately, when we go back to the discussing - you can call yourself Kashmiri, Pakistani Kashmiri, Pakistani, Pakistani with Kashmiri roots; that's entirely upto you, the fact you may be of a different political opinion than mine makes no difference.

Generally I concur but you don't know what really happened....at any rate the point wasn't that I punched him...the point was that blood doesn't matter to me, ideology does & Pakistan isn't just a habitual political disposition for me...its something a lot more !

On the contrary I think Muslim Brotherhood is the only thing that makes sense to be used as a focal point to give birth to Nationhood because any student of anthropology would be able to point towards the irrationality of using something as wholly man-made as linguistic & ethnic grouping & how they are by their very nature ever evolving.

On the last bit, I think you went off on a tangent, no one is asking Muslim Brotherhood to be used as leverage for anything or being used in an exclusionary manner for that would defeat the very nature of the notion to begin with.

It was never about chest-thumping or any notion of drumbeat that defines itself as something that is 'not the other' for such an identity would be weak ! Pakistaniyat is beyong Kashmiriyat, its beyond the struggles & aspirations of one ethnic community & it is precisely because of that do I find Kashmiriyat to be far too limiting for me & something that I can't really relate to ! Possibly because my frame of reference has never been my ethnicity & its not likely will ever be because ethnic & linguistic groups are man-made phenomenon !

No I don't take this to heart but at the same time I find Pakistan very personal...therefore its not as if I consider my political opinions as a hat that can be worn & taken-off at will - its a part of me ! Its what being passionate about something is all about....that it permeates & embellishes everything that you're about.
