Nankana Sahib – Sikh Girl Tells LHC She Married A Muslim With Consent!

What I would say, state needs to exercise extreme caution in dealing with the minorities, specially in this day and age. Enemies of Pakistan are waiting for these things to happen and exploit them to cause further embarrassment and ugly situations for Pakistan.

Face it. They will always use any way to create divisions in Pakistani society, whether we are too Islamic or too liberal. They have puppets on both sides.

Let us stop worrying about what others think and start worrying about the immediate threat if we compromise our beliefs: the Pakistani public.

Pakistan must be a safe place for any Muslim in our land, whether from Muslim families or Non-Muslim families. Afterall we are founded on the idea that we are a sanctuary for the Muslims of the subcontinent initially.

Minorities need to understand that we won't compromise on Islam. If one of their family members converts, we won't allow anyone to persecute them or torture them.

The thing with Sikh mentality is that it is different, they don't consider themselves a minority. They see themselves as rightful heirs of everything from Kabul to Chandigarh with Pakistan in the middle, courtesy of the short-lived Ranjit Singh dynasty.

You are fully aware of the rights of minorities in state of Madina?

These "conversations" on most occasions happen because girl fell in love with the boy, high on emotions and hormonal changes and Islam become a convenient medium for union , not realising what is the true essence of conversation. No human should convert/revert for the sake of another human, its done only and only for the sake of Allah and seeking his pleasure. Asiya(AS) was married to kafir firoon and we all know her status.

Things needs to be settled amicably, where all parties are satisfied, people needs to be mature enough to walk away from situations where they can cause greater fitna/divisions among the society. My two cents.

Why these fktards go about and lure the girls from other religions and cause embarrassment for Pakistan? Is this some kind of fetish in Pakistan. Some sort of "forbidden fruit"?

Go and ask their parents first, if they reject, make a U-turn and go home.

I agree, if people are going to support this then tomorrow a Muslim girl will run off. Then people be complaining. We all live in a family system and it's always better to speak to a few family people and go with them to the girls parent and ask for her hand, if they say no then the girl can always have a word with her father or brothers and explain the situation. If still a no then find someone else, plenty of amazing men and women out there. The fact is these days young people have become selfish and want to do what they want to do. Why would you take someone's child and run off with her?

No one has a right to unconvert a Muslim by force to a religion which they don't desire to be a part of. No state, no family has that right.

Do you think Pakistani public will stand idly by? Religious zealots can use such cases to stoke deep tensions and undermine the state.

Our state needs to come clean as to what is the foundation, are we liberal Westernized or are we an Islamic nation?

If you straddle both, these questions will keep arising.

As for this girl, even if she contacted this man in a wrong way, the end is good, Alhamdulilah.

Our society has no punishment for zina, so how can we even enforce Islamic fiqh laws here?

That still does not nullify her Islam and if there is a danger to her and she feels unsafe to go back to her parents, no power on Earth can force her.

We don't ransom girls for peace, this is not Islamic.

.

More muslims = better it is. I don't care how they initially came to islam. The point is , sooner or later they will eventually learn about islam and become good muslim. Even if they didn't learn , Allah will save them from permanent hell fire for being a muslim..

I see a win win situation.

Alternativ is chutiya secular who thinks he has all figured it out.

At first I had written a response, but no point in arguing. In the end, Islamists like you are decreasing in Pakistan.

Keep selling Islam for marriage and money, to you God's word is worth only that much... not to me. I was raised with sense and respect.

@Alternatiiv I can understand where you are coming from. A person who reverts to Islam on the basis of love rather than spiritual awakening is most likely to leave the religion if there is a breakdown in the marriage. This is quite common in the West.

This concocted word Islamist used by the US to demonize any Muslim interested in the political future of his country needs to go out of use.

Reality is that religion is one factor, among many, which influences human thought. Why should it become taboo due to the dictates of the West?

Do we call Christians, Christianists, or Jews, Judaists, to malign their God-given right to have a voice?

Pakistan, a nation founded on Islam, will obviously give importance to Islam.

She converted to Islam, will you force her to leave her faith? Force her back to relatives who would abuse her for her choice of her faith?

Don't you believe in a women's right to choose her destiny?

Is it only acceptable if she chooses anything else but Islam?

My answer lies in the one where I put in points, i have no interest in repeating myself to a person ho doesn't read.

Some parents can be unreasonable in their demands - they are humans actually.

A habitual criminal can be considered "human, thus unreasonable in his demands" too.

Honor killing should be declared the highest of crimes.

Islamic do's and don'ts for marriage and other matters are for all ages. They will remain the same. You are increasingly out of touch with Islamic teachings unfortunately.

In India there are 330 million court cases pending. Many of these are related to immovable property and estate. These cases are there because these properties and estates in India are private ownerships. Thus, disputes can arise around them.

Now imagine if properties and estates were owned by the system instead and maintained on behalf of the people of the country. Would disputes arise in the first place ??

Plenty of New Muslims ran away from family torture and oppression to join the Prophet SAWS in the beginning of Islam, some women even divorced their Kaffir husbands and remarried Muslims

That was because Islam brought progressive ideas at that time.

@jamahir I cry for your children if they ever planned to follow Islam properly.

Islamic Fiqh is clear on these issues.

Non-Muslims are talking about settling on Mars and what are we Muslims talking about ?? Whether a Muslim can marry a non-Muslim.

No one is saying that the girl should unconvert. She can go back to her family as a Muslim. That will actually will be test if she really wanted to become Muslim for the sake of blessing from Allah, or just marriage to this boy was the main reason.

And this has nothing to do with our state Islamic credentials, its all about preserving our values, our culture and our etiquettes as a civilized society. As a father , you will not want to see your daughter run away with a man, put yourself in this girl's father shoes and you will understand where I am coming from. I am more or less leaning towards this idea that majority of these cases got nothing to do with Islam, its only when shite hits the fan, Islam is brought up to make the wrong act halal. Making girls runaway from their household is a very dangerous trend which will cause all sorts of issues in our society Islamic fibre. As I mentioned, go through proper channel, get all parties satisfied, make parents happy even if one has to bribe them. Avoid the fitna at all cost.

Are you aware of the challenges faced by converts to Islam from Non-Muslim backgrounds?

It will not be hard for emotional, physical, social blackmail to force her to change against her will.

This is an untenable position, both in Pakistan and in regards to the Islamic faith.

What is the proper way for a Non-Muslim girl to convert to Islam and marry a Muslim man whom she loves, if her family is opposed?

Running away is her only option. If she is a minor, she should be treated as an emancipated minor similar to how that case of independence from family is treated in the US.

Wow i would be surprised if a granthis daughter would ever convert to islam, given sikhism is a direct result of moslem oppression in north indiaespecially puniab!

If she is persecuted in any shape of form the force of law should be applied and will be justified.

Isnt it strange that almost all cases end up with girls parents wanting her daughter back. Unless you are suggesting that we are living in a jungle where people do not have any social values and not sound minded.

As a said , go through proper civilized channel, win over people by etiquettes and respect. This is not the right way.

Muslims oppression? The founder lived in Pakistan, died in Pakistan, among the Muslims, his right hand man was a Muslim and is revered among Muslims as well.
