GILGIT: The terrorist mastermind behind the attack on foreign trekkers in Nanga Parbat has been arrested, Express News reported Thursday.
According to Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan Younis Dagha, the terrorist Qaribullah alias ‘Hasan’ is the former Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) leader of the Chilas unit.
On June 23, ten foreign trekkers and their Pakistani guide were mowed to death by gunmen in paramilitary fatigue at a base camp of Nanga Parbat, in Gilgit-Baltistan in an attack claimed by both the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan and Jundullah sectarian extremist group.
Earlier, gunmen dressed as paramilitary forces killed nine foreign tourists in an unprecedented attack in the Himalayas of Gilgit-Baltistan.
M Nabi alias Qari Husnain, a suspect in the murder of government officials, was also arrested

I am glad that the mastermind of this dastardly act has finally been arrested. However it would be pleasing if the rest of the militants involved in the attack were arrested too and/or eliminated. We need to pull up our socks and stop the Taliban. \We need to be pro-active, killing militant leaders before they manage to attack innocent Pakistanis and soldiers.

A group of 20 TTP insurgents was arrested earlier. Hunt for the group's leader was on and today he is rotting behind the bars .. Hope they are given the harshest punishment
