Najam Sethi has clearly brushed off the Daily Mail’s Indian edition claim that the ICC has threatened the PCB with legal action if Pakistan backs off from participating in the upcoming World T20 over the security concerns.

According to the Chairman of cricket board’s executive committee, Najam Sethi, the ICC has just inquired from the PCB about their status regarding the upcoming World T20 tournament that is to be hosted by India. Sethi has communicated the International Cricket Council that they have sent an application to the government of Pakistan for the approval to travel to India and just waiting for the response.

The Daily Mail published on Feb, 15 2016 edition that the ICC has coined PCB’s security concerns as totally baseless as they are completely satisfied with the security arrangements by the hosting country, India. The same report also quotes some words of a key ICC official that when Pakistan’s athlete can travel to India for South Asian Games, then why can’t 20 people travel for the mega event.

On the other hand, Najam Sethi has clearly stated that the ICC has not asked the PCB anything other than the current status, neither they have replied with any other details.

Recently, the PCB Chairman, Shaharyar Khan proposed the ICC to conduct their bouts of World T20 at neutral venues, in case the Pakistani government does not allow the team to participate in the mega event hosted by India.

Najam Sethi is very respected personality on both sides of the border. He knows what to do in such situations, politics has its own place, sports should kept away from politics.

Najam knows what and when to speak.

ofcourse not .... I think a journalist should just stuck to his job but the idiot GOP make him Director of Cricket board this is irony
But he is a good journalist, I have seen his interviews and most of the time his views are unbiased.

He is always very careful with his statements and he deserves to be in that position.

Yes yes, Daily Mail's "Indian" edition . Daily Mail is good tabloid but its Indian edition is the only one reporting false news about Pakistan , because "Indian edition"
