LAHORE: Heavy contingent of police surrounded the residence of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif in Model Town on Saturday.

The team of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) is accompanying the police.

The media stated the police and NAB have reached the residence to arrest PML-N leader and Punjab Assembly opposition leader Hamza Shehbaz.

While talking to media outside the residence, NAB Deputy Director Chaudhry Asghar said that the team has come to arrest Hamza Shehbaz in assets beyond means of income case.

“The guards should let us inside the residence,” he stated, adding that police and NAB are here all night long and will only leave after the arrest of Hamza Shehbaz.

“We have the arrest warrants,” he said.

According to PML-N spokesperson, Malik Ahmad, NAB and police have surrounded the residence of PML-N president.

Meanwhile, PML-N workers started to reach the residence of Sharifs as strong protest is expected once again.

In her statement, PML-N spokesperson Mariyum Aurangzeb said that NAB is doing state terrorism. “Yesterday, Prime Minister Imran Khan said in a rally that he will put whole opposition in the jail and today, this happened,”
she said.

Moreover, the secretary of said that Hamza Shehbaz is not a terrorist rather a respectable politician hence should be treated accordingly.

“We have asked our workers to reach Model Town,” he said, adding that PML-N is ready to face every situation.

HAMZA CHALLENGED NAB’s RAID IN LHC:

Furthermore, Hamza Shehbaz challenged the NAB’s raid and effort to arrest him in the Lahore High Court (LHC). In his plea, Hamza termed NAB’s raid unconstitutional and illegal.

The plea was filed through Amjad Pervaiz, who is the lawyer of PA opposition leader. “The court must dismiss the arrest warrants of Hamza Shehbaz immediately,” the application asserted, adding that court should take action against the monetary watchdog for contempt of court.

“The raid by the NAB completely illegal and against the orders of the court, the application further said.

NAB’S FIRST RAID:

Earlier on Friday, a raid by the NAB to arrest Hamza Shehbaz from his house in Lahore’s Model Town area failed after the lawmaker’s guards resisted the search, forcing the NAB team to return empty-handed despite a “warrant”.

The accountability watchdog sent its team to 96-H in Model Town– residence of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif and his sons Hamza and Suleman Shahbaz – to arrest the opposition leader in the Punjab Assembly after finding proof against him in two graft cases.

Hamza was present inside the house at the time of the raid.

At present, former Punjab chief minister Shehbaz and his sons Hamza and Salman are facing multiple NAB inquiries, including the Ashiana-e-Iqbal Housing scam and Ramzan Sugar Mills cases.

There is so much wrong with this situation
1)
“We have the arrest warrants,” he said.
Wonder if that carries any meaning to the Shariffs?

2)
PML-N workers started to reach the residence of Sharifs as strong protest is expected once again.
In comes the gunda gang...Wonder if this time the police just beat them with a baton and take them in too....for contempt of court and getting in the way of the law/ wasting time and public money by making them go away and come again!....All should be slapped on their faces!

3)
NAB is doing state terrorism.
Oh has she not seen? For terrorists we shoot first ask q later....

4)
“Yesterday, Prime Minister Imran Khan said in a rally that he will put whole opposition in the jail and today, this happened,”
Then get out of the way...idiot!

5)
“We have asked our workers to reach Model Town,”
And in comes the jahil brigadiers! Ready to be human shield...talk about worshiping their leaders?!

6)
HAMZA CHALLENGED NAB’s RAID IN LHC:
WTH is he challenging? A warrant was issued...THEY broke the law through brute force!

7)
NAB’s raid unconstitutional and illegal.
So he should have been shot like model town? Coz that case hasnt been given a guilty verdict so I assume it is constitutional than pleading to these barbarians?!

8)
“The court must dismiss the arrest warrants of Hamza Shehbaz immediately,”
on what grounds? "Coz I said so" style badshaat?

9)
The raid by the NAB completely illegal and against the orders of the court,
Isnt a warrant ORDERED by court?

10)

Why did they return after 24 hrs? They should have sent the anti terrorism squad on Friday itself...Now "proof" would have been burnt/ shifted from that house!

Hamza Shahbaz is likely to be arrested today after the NAB team returned after an unsuccessful raid on Friday.

Lahore (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 6th April, 2019) The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has once again arrived at the Model Town residence of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif to arrest his son and Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly Hamza Shahbaz for involvement in moneylaundering.

Media reports said that Hamza Shahbaz is likely to be arrested today after the NAB team returned after an unsuccessful raid on Friday.

Anti-riots force and heavy contigents of police are present at Model Town to manage any law and order situation.

Meanwhile, Hamza Shahbaz has challenged the NAB arrest warrants in the Lahore High Court(LHC).

Hamza Shahbaz challenged the arrest warrants in the court.

The petition, filed by his counsel, stated that NAB unnecessarily raided Hamza Shahbaz’s house on Friday.

It added that the NAB appeared at his house with arrest warrants without any prior notice.

The petition demanded to suspend the arrest warrants and take action against NAB for contempt of court.

The NAB raided the residence of Opposition Leader in National Assembly and PML-Nawaz President Shehbaz Sharif Friday to arrest his son Hamza Shehbaz.

According to the NAB spokesman, a team of the NAB went to arrest Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly Hamza Shehbaz on the basis of solid evidence of alleged money laundering and cases related to assets beyond means. He claimed that the NAB had the arrest warrants for Hamza.

Prior notice? Kiya chai ki dawaat thee susral kay ghar? Stupidity at its best!

You're so self sufficient; can do a good monologue
I like to question the shit flying around!

It helps me think and hopefully rubs off on others

That's a good habit, I do it myself as well..self-talk for business strategies and technical work... Though recently, I have grown a bit conscious so I do it more discreetly and quietly.

NAB is doing a great job. I have observed that NAB is more sincere in dispensing of its duties. They work under stress and at much lower wages than the competition and under the legal framework provided to them by the parliament & the SC, NAB itself does not make laws.
Also I heard it has been under-staffed. The problem lies with the courts in fact. The justices of the higher courts earn a lot more than even CEOs of many multinational companies in Pakistan and they are the ones who have discredited NAB's work JIT reports and they are ones who make behind the scene deals... as the recent grant of bail to NS or removing SS's name from ECL.

.
NAB should bring Rangers with them or forget about arresting Hamza Shabaz, their paid goons are more capable than our police.

.
Lol..Police and Rangers is already there .What next in this filmy episode

Well, I had a highlighting problem...Got told off by other members...now I use bold only :(

But how come they lose evidence? Their prosecutors always want more time and never are prepared....its a bit of a mess in my honest opinion!

Yea courts and justice system is non existing ...that I agree

This is why. These powers are not granted but earn by spending lots of money and years. You can do it because u have not spend a penny nor struggle. Those who are in power have much on stakes and their future too thats why no one takes proper action.
