What makes me SLEEP well is ONE FACT regarding Mig 29 and SU 30

That is A JF 17 is JUST HALF of a MIG 29K and Su 30 MKI in capabilities

Hence it will never engage in a Air to Air Battle UNLESS there is numerical superiority for the JF 17

But IAF and IN together will always put MORE than 100 fighter Planes for NAVAL operations

1. Only two planes are capable enough to to guide such missile is PAF are F-16 & JF-17. F-16 is out of equation as it will not carry or support Chinese system.

2. So only JF-17 is left to do the dirty job with maximum surface sea targets can be detected at up to 135 km source:

5. IN Destroyers and Carrier are equipped with EL/M-2248 MF-STAR is a multifunction Active electronically scanned array naval radar system developed by IAI Elta for maritime installation on warships. MF-STAR is capable of tracking both air and surface targets and can track hundreds of targets simultaneously with a very fast refresh rate. It is capable of providing guidance illumination and mid course updates to both active and semi active Surface-to-air missiles and Anti-ship missiles, with multiple simultaneous engagement capability. It is also capable of automatic splash detection and correction for naval gunnery support.

While targets are tracked at long range threats are automatically recognized at medium range and Automatic track initiation takes place. Sea skimming attacking missile are tracked at >25 km while High flying fighter aircraft are automatically tracked at >120 km

6. Advance SAM system BARAK - I, BARAK - 8, AK-630 close-in anti-missile gun system.


So 1st JF-17 need to survive against Mig 29 than need to track advance stealth destroyers ( Carrier will be at-least 30-35 km behind from the lead ship) save it self from Barak -8 then fire CM400AKG and pray that is would it hit highly protected sea vessel moving at the speed of 30+ knots ( nearly 60 km/h)

Why do you forget SU 30 MKI

Why do you think IAF will NOT use Su 30 MKI for offensive Fighter sweep operations

If the purpose is a NAVAL Blockade then we HAVE to use Sukhois

Su 30 will be used for Both :
Air strikes using Brahmos and other Air to Ground Weapons
AND Air Dominance for taking out hostile aircraft like P 3 C and JF 17 ; F 16 and Mirage V

The IAF bases are very close to Karachi
Hence IAF can very well coordinate with Indian Navy

you still dont get it. let me put it to you like this. the main asm is the harpoon and the c802. the cm400 is ONLY for aircraft carriers.

also if pakistan wanted a missile the cx-1 is just like the brahmos
