Myanmar troops open fire on civilians fleeing attacks.

.
Myanmar will try to kill all Rohingya if there is a
full insurgency.
I am not talking about a complete invasion of
Myanmar but limited to Arakan up to the mountains. This will form the new de-facto border
between BD and Myanmar. Rohingya cannot exist as independent state with their numbers.

Support from Muslim countries? Pakistan
is selling JF-17s to Myanmar.

BD needs to show serious intent soon as otherwise no Rohingya will be left in Myanmar.

Yeah, you have problem with Pakistan selling JF-17 to Maynmar but you have no problem supporting India against Pakistan. So buddy don't cry now. We will do what suits us best.

.
You should not salivate at looking those burmese savage.Your bharat is already a Hindu extremist country with all type of minority oppression and attack.Just because you have put 'secular' word on constitution doesn't make you secular.

Where did you get this bullshit? This type of flood occur once in decade or even less.Last significant flood like this happened in 2004.Most of the year, we don't even notice whether a flood is happening somewhere. And there is no equivalent of @Banglar Bir in Indian forum, otherwise you have known, this flood caused more damage and destruction and casualties in order of magnitude several times greater in India than Bangladesh.

Bd being smaller than India (in land area 1/20, and economic scales 1/10 but with population 1/8) must facing and deal with the disaster in larger proportion scale. Otherwise keep your economic progress to build your Nation first, for feed your population, just forget about initiating war against Myanmar as they dont poke your country directly first, just closed the border and let them deal their problems alone.

You don't have to scratch your head worrying about flood in Bangladesh. Our disaster response is much better than other developing countries which is fact recognized by the various institution. In another post, you have said that Bangladesh is loosing farmland each year due to global warming, which is false. The truth is, we have reclaimed 1000 sq. km of farmland from the bay of Bengal since 1960s with coastal management.More are coming.Bangladesh is now significantly larger than what it used to be in 1947.Bangladesh is loosing farmland but not due to climate but because of rapid urbanization which is true in many countries around the world.

Ok, we will not, I promise you.Now go to bed to sleep peacefully.

You know the catch phrase on the article? plan, to build, and the likes. Why you lot likes to bragging something you had to build yet, is future tense is kind of new fetish in Bangladesh. Tell me when is Bangladesh actually built such project, at least in reality not in seminar and paper?

In reality i doubt Bd had money and expertise to build such project like what we build in Jakarta Bay, this is what we called reclamation and giant sea wall project.

The map of the last ice age when the sea level were much lower and Asia and Australia were land connected. Since then Bangladesh did not loose a single inch of coastline whereas SE asia lost 70% of it.

The reason, is that BD itself was formed by the deposit of the sedimentation carried by the mighty rivers from Himalaya. The process is still continuing and our coast is getting bigger everyday. Even the sea level rises which is offset by the sedimentation and our land gets higher too. That is the reason we survived millions of years despite being a country always at the sea level.

This may be too complicated for you. But think deep or talk to a geologist who can speak to your language.

DHAKA: Bangladesh on Monday proposed joint military operations with Myanmar against Rohingya militants fighting in Rakhine state, where thousands of villagers have fled fresh violence in recent days, an official said.

An upsurge in fighting in Rakhine, an impoverished state neighboring Bangladesh, has been raging since Friday when Rohingya militants staged coordinated ambushes against Myanmar’s security forces.

More than 100 people, including around 80 militants, have been confirmed killed in thefightback, which has seen thousands of Rohingya villagers fleeing for Bangladesh.
More than 3,000 Rohingya have arrived in Bangladesh from Myanmar, where the stateless Muslim minority faces persecution, in the past three days, the UN refugee agency said Monday.

Bangladesh has said there are thousands more Rohingya massed on its border with Myanmar, where it has stepped up patrols and pushed back hundreds of civilians who have tried to enter.

In a meeting with Myanmar’s charge d’affaires in Dhaka, a top Bangladeshi Foreign Ministry official proposed joint military efforts against the militants along the border.
“We proposed that if Myanmar wished, the security forces of the two countries could conduct joint operations against the militants, any non-state actors or the Arakan Army along the Bangladesh-Myanmar border,” a Foreign Ministry official said on condition of anonymity, as he was not permitted to speak to the media.

The Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) is a militant group that claims it is fighting to protect the Muslim minority from abuses by Myanmar security forces and the majority-Buddhist Rakhine community.

There was no comment from the Myanmar diplomat.

At the weekend, as violence in Rakhine worsened, Bangladesh’s foreign minister summoned Myanmar’s charge’d affaires in Dhaka to express “serious concern” at the possibility of a fresh refugee influx.

There are already some 400,000 Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh in squalid camps near its border with Myanmar.

Bangladesh is waging a bloody crackdown onhomegrown religious militancy and has vowed “zero tolerance” toward violent extremism, domestic or otherwise, on its soil.

Dhaka has repeatedly asked Myanmar to take back the Rohingya refugees and address the root causes of problem “through a comprehensive and inclusive approach.”
Despite decades of persecution, the Rohingya in Myanmar’s western Rakhine state largely eschewed violence.

But in October ARSA, a small and previously unknown militant group, staged a series of deadly attacks on security forces. Myanmar’s military responded with a massive security crackdown. Some 87,000 new refugees flooded into Bangladesh bringing with them harrowing stories of murder, rape and burned villages.

The UN believes the army’s response may amount to ethnic cleansing, allegations denied by the government of Aung San Suu Kyi and the army.

In recent months the day-to-day fighting died down, but civilians described being trapped between army “clearance operations” and an assassination campaign by the militants, who are murdering anyone suspected of collaboration.

Even with all the sedimentation Bangladesh is still a low lying country. The worst case rise in sea levels would mean 40% of Bangladesh under sea level.

There are always some idiots in the government. I dont think its a its a state policy.

Bangladesh is created by sedimentation. check the map i posted earlier.

They belong to the same two faced crony group.

Aung tried to play nice because otherwise they know that China is going to teach them a serious lesson.
Not exactly. The decisions are made by the Junta almost exclusively. Aung is merely a puppet in an otherwise military-police state. It was not her decision to bomb China but the that of incompetent military commanders. China made them pay by shooting down a Burmese Mig in December of last year ...

How is she mental? There is a clear flatlining in BD FDI at very low pathetic level for years now.

That means everything foreign liquidity wise is loan based...given BD stock market market cap and complexity is also 4th rate at best.

Means opportunity costs will always rear its ugly head for any project in BD because you are seriously liquidity deprived country....that too you have only yourselves to blame for that (your inability to improve, utter denial of or even love of having a corruption-ridden, low-institutional capacity environment)

You think "The Economist" is a mental patient when they put Dhaka right alongside warzone cities like Damascus and Tripoli for liveability?
Before you bash Bangladesh's economy, I will remind you that Bangladesh's garment industry is one of the largest in the world and is magnitudes bigger than India's. India cannot manufacture anything the world wants or its citizens want ... and hence their enormous trade deficit. In some ways, a population of 140 billion is much more successful than a population of 1.3 billion in economic terms.

Uhh ... what are you talking about here. Your land area and population points contradict each other; India has very few natural resources to provide for its enormous population and imports almost everything from abroad. And correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe India has way more malnourished kids than Bangladesh. The fact is Bangladesh cannot sit by idly while the Myanmar regime slaughters those poor Rohigyna.

I wasn't aware of that news.
