My Kargil testimony, declassified

@Syed.Ali.Haider

I've myself spoken to Kargil Veterens, from Sipahis, Major, Colonel and a Brigadier.

They all stated that Kargil was a military victory snatched from us by a spineless Prime Minister who caved into Clinton's coercion.

All historians including Brian Cloughly have stated the same. Musharraf was deeply trusted by his men, he lead them with great tactic and personal valor. He infiltrated in Indian controlled territory with other SSGs and spent the night there which was later confirmed by the Indian military.

Even today the highest peak in Kargil theater is a Pakistani checkpost. It remains an evidence that we were making progress in the conflict.

All Veterns i've spoken to have stated that Nawaz Sharif's order for a hasty, immediate and unilateral withdrawl lead to thousands of Pakistan casualties.

Whcih falls on LOC and IA never had post their as its is situated on LOC.

A country sends its soldier's and home grown terrorists to capture peaks covertly when peace talks are going on?tell me how some one will trust these kind of country?

Should we consider ourselves privileged that you have joined us to splash your brains out.
Pakistan lost Kargil not due to Indians bravery rather the cowardice shown by the country's political leadership, what to talk of 15 years, if Indians were so convinced and flushed with Kargil victory, three years later they wouldn't have sat at the border for a whole year and watch Mushrooms grow on their sorry a$$.
It was NS who saved what left of your soldiers..it was kargil which helped us understood the venom inside you ..I agree that Mushraff wad the real winner in this.. even though he send those soldiers to g et slaughtered and abandoned on those peaks,he was successful in passing the blame to NS and eventually took power.. given the track record of his failure to capture siachin,it might be another usual day for him

It was actually Bill Clinton who exercised pressure on NS and saved your face and your army from further humiliation. Even with the Israeli help and America providing you satellite imagery of the occupied peaks, your army had no answer and were repeatedly being cut down.....watch the documentary and listen to Clinton and his advisors in their own words as what kind of pressure and tactics the White House used to buckle down NS. Talking of venom, the Rat Snakes were very much present and active 30 years earlier in erstwhile East Pakistan.

I wish you a thousand more victories like Kashmir or as Erich von Manstein would have said - 'Lost Victories'.

Note: Read that book, a delightful read it was for me. :)

Check any situation map of the Kargil Sector - a part of the district is with Pakistan since 1948. The LOC passes over the Point 5353. So now - as per practice, such areas are occupied by neither side. Pakistan had an observation post there.

During the Kargil conflict all the peaks taken by Pakistan were retaken by force by the Indian forces. The observation post (this was later reinforced with heavy long distance artillery for support) was left unmolested, except for a force recon attempt that was rebuffed.

The entire operation was a fiasco of the first degree. The tactical brilliance was sacrificed by withdrawing support to the Pak forces on the peaks. While the Indians had full air support, the Pakistanis had none. Hell, even reinforcements could not reach easily as Pakistan had disowned their own troops.

I don't know what to say man. :disagree:
I accept what has been mentioned in the report. Only way you improve if you know what's wrong. Otherwise another kargil waiting to happen and bring worse results for pak army.

What a twist of logic...NS begged Clinton to interfere because your soldiers were slaughtered out there. Your hero Mushraff let them be killed in those peaks. There are enough video s showing mirages pounding LBG s on NLI asses..While your hero Mushraff trying to pass the blame to NS rather than saving those soldiers,it ws NS timely intervention that helped saving what rest of your NLI...you are a nation who bite the hand which offer you peace initiative.while hosting our PM in the pretext of peace dialogue you send your soldiers sneaking into those peaks. .heck can't even fight a straight war..shows the character of a nation and its people

Cut the crap, are you losers even in a position to comment or criticize others when by their own admission your so called braves disguised as Muktis rather than declaring an open war, after a couple of your MiGs and a Chopper had their sorry a$$ on fire, your air force opted for safety rather than mission accomplishment thus flying above clouds from where even the LGBs become pretty useless.......an army which glorifies on fake encounters and fudged up records can only convince nationals who end up giving posthumous medals to alive personal.....talk about headless chickens,

Lolz..when was the last time India send its soldier's to take your land when your PM was in our country for peace dialogue. .Instead of ranting talk about something which is useful otherwise be like a cry baby as always and whine about India. .you act like the term "looser" is tattooed in your forehead. .

And the last time we declared an open war. It didn't even last 13 days and 90000 personal s from the land of pure and brave were surrendered to us with out any resistance.

Indian newspapers and their public believe--or say they believe--that the conflict in Dras-Kargil last year was a military victory for India. In fact, it was a war 'won' by briefings and a slavishly supportive media. The Indian public wanted to be assured of 'victory,' and every effort was made to provide that assurance. Kargil was disastrous for Pakistan in worldwide political terms, and was an important public relations coup for the Indian government, both internally (in the run-up to the election), and internationally. But militarily it was a shambles for India whose brave but ill-prepared soldiers suffered gravely and would have sustained even heavier casualties had the conflict continued. The prime minister of Pakistan was ordered by the president of the United States to withdraw his troops from a successful military operation and this was done in time to save the Vajpayee government from the wave of criticism that would have swamped it had the confrontation not been stopped.

Brian Cloughley?? :woot: This a$$ is a poodle faker and a known rabid India basher who is the Pak Army's favourite chamcha who has been wined and dined by them! And you refer him as an authority on the subject?

C'mon man, you can do better than that!!

Lol,this is really funny windy, the number of aircraft losses IAF took pales in comparison to the number of sorties and ammunition dropped.

i thought some of your country men said only 1000 mujahideen/ Pak army taken part of kargil op... While IAF bombed hell those intruders ... PAF refused to take part .. While PN officers afraid of IN and get in q to get leaves... you are trying to say IA get humiliated. ..lolz biggest joke... This is more than ultra nationalism .... even Pak refused to take back the dead bodies of its soldiers... IA response was massive... and we recaptured those peaks... Pak was humiliated diplomatically and militarily .. not in a position to continue the war...

What's funny about it, after losing three aircraft in two days, IAF opted to operate from higher altitude to avoid any SAM threat, now take into consideration the terrain and the environment, low cloud cover prevailing most of the time.....at the same time IAF had to be very careful as not to ingress into Pakistani airspace...... I am sure even the much respected Tufail Kaiser said that these bombings had little impact.
