My Big Fat Pakistani Mansion (BBC Documentary), hopes, dreams and dilemmas for the diaspora...

This was actually a very fair programme - it is not about Pakistanis, it is about human yearning for the past, even though that world no longer exists.

All the people in the programme built huge mansions thinking they will move back one day, to that beautiful world of their childhood as winners. But now they see their children are not interested and the society they wanted to impress is gone.

It is common in Bangladesh too. Personally, I believe that one day these kids will realise that the East is on the up and they will start being interested in their ancestral properties again - but it will be too late by then.

The issue is not one day EAST will rise, it is why is it not rising as things in the WEST are not as bright as one hopped. Bellow is a documentary that shows what UK's new generation faces.

Yes, the west has plateaued and the East has a lot of room to grow. But the vast majority of people would still rather stay here.

Dont get me wrong, just because people see money making opportunities in the East, does not mean they will embrace their heritage. They will come to pick the fruits and most likely they will face resistance from the locals.

Another BS BBC documentary, another one-sided view by this anti-Pakistani @DANCING GIRL of how awful Pakistan is and how innocent and special those expats are, who badmouth their own country and did odd jobs all their lives with their next generation doing the same. Contains same old hateful rhetoric which you wont find in indian documentaries of bashing of islam and Pakistan. Remain unskilled, poor in mindset, selfish and greedy. Waste millions to build mansions just to show off where there own children never live or stay in. One bald jerk talks about humanity and human rights, but funnily he and his fellow ilk also have been exploiting their villagers. They spent millions on themselves but could'nt give hundreds to build a school, improve sanitation, healthcare in their area. Atleast have a skilled next generation. Saale khud bhi gawaar jaahil who did nothing for their society or improve something. Make make sweeping statements about their own country but don't look in their own underwear.

@DANCING GIRL

Seems when you can't respond you resort to this with your family also. Don't show your auqaat to many who don't know you. Clarion project ka dalaal who posts against Pakistan.

So i watched it.

And i dont want to comment on this

Yeah but why is this Pakistan specific?

Almost every country has such a thing.

That's true. Dull topic and stupid documentary. Paindu designs and interiors and then being miserable living all alone in them.

But that's money coming to the country, so build away.

I just find it odd that of all the countries they would pick Pakistan.

Secondly the government should use this money Smartly than to have These palaces in a village.

I am also guilty of having the same thought after spending many years of last decade out of India , but my plan is to renovate my existing house and the idea was shot down by my parents ...
