As well as a couple of recent things, a few of those are mentioned in the article. France is largely tolerant of its immigrants however the immigrants too need to be tolerant of the French culture, it will not be manipulated or changed as per their whims and wishes. If anyone has a problem with the country or its people of the culture they follow or freedom of speech/actions or secularism, they are free to return to their own countries. You yourself have a largely negative view of liberalism and secularism yet you would want fair treatment by the same people for yourself, this mindset is a problem.

Yeah the ISIS bogey is a good excuse. But ground realities doesn't correlate to such BS. ISIS or other types of extremism is a direct consequence of liberal secular crusade (of which egalitarian france is a part) in the muslim world. Now they need some sort of an excuse to shut european muslims from voicing their opinions and ISIS is a good bogey. It isn't. Iran has a lot of problems, but it isn't Islamabad. Don't turn this into an Iran vs Pakistan thing. Iran's human development score was better than Turkey until a couple of years ago and today it's at 70 something. Pakistan is in the 150's. The infrastructure in Iranian cities is first world compared to SE Asian and Central Asian countries. Cleanliness is EU level.
