Check Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG, used to be US Information Agency which main role was propaganda warfare vs USSR), media funded and supervised include Voice of America, Radio Free Asia (RFA), Radio Free Europe / Radio Liberty, Office of Cuba Broadcasting, Middle East Broadcasting Network. Political warfare vs enemy states (used to be Soviet block, nowadays like China, Russia, Cuba, North Korea, some Muslim nations) has been going on for decades, operations are funded directly by US Congress/Government.
