Muslim groups slam new call for UK burka ban

.
The problem with Burkas is group pressure.
When you are wearing clothes as a uniform, you restrict the freedom of others.
In Nazi-Germany, the SA uniform was worn and used to intimidate others.

That resulted in a law banning the use of uniforms in Sweden after the war.
It is no longer in existence due to the conflict with personal freedom.

Once the Muslim countries stops requiring women to wear the veil/burka,
and Muslim men and women stop discriminating Muslim women not covering their faces,
then I see no problem in many cases.

In some cases, showing the face is absolutely neccessary.

An alternative to banning veils/burkas would be severe punishments on group pressure
or reinstating laws banning uniforms.

I understand and appreciate the cultural differences and the 'rights'. But if I have a guest in my house, I will not adjust to his/her wishes. Of course she can do what she pleases after shutting the door of the guest room, but in my presence, I would expect my rules to be followed. That's how the world functions.

Yaar, your house hasnt drafted any secular rules, your house does not hold up democratic rights, nor does it come with a set of rules - it comes with a dictator - most likely either mom or wife :p.

I do understand the context of your post btw.

Hello, you anti Islamic loonies still posting one liner pictures of a less than a hundred extremists protesting like this, yet when I show you one with 30,000 british muslims protesting against the likes of these, you say I don't represent Islam. Double standards or just inherent bigotry?

.
The choice is not personal in the first place,,,its due to religious taboos.

Now u can argue that its still the choice of woman but i will say that since they are indoctrinated from birth onwards on burquas they cannot make an informed consent in the first place thus majority end up in burqas.

So, doesn't that go for every single religion out there?

Wearing crosses, nuns wearing their religious clothes, Jews wearing kippuh etc. should be "forced" to abandon their choices because they aren't making an informed decision since they were indoctrinated from the beginning of their life?

Should abstinence be banned for Catholic priests since they are also doing it b/c of religious indoctrination?

.
Can anybody imagine women wearing burquas 100 years from now? Not happening unless there is a nuclear war and we are again in the stone ages

problem is the general population is not wearing thise,,,is that so hard to comprehend??
ur examples are so naive that i don't even want to counter them.

sure catholic priests are also indoctrinated,,,are we talking about muslim mullahs here for comparison??

no,we are talking about general population

Some points which I liked.

Hargey reacted angrily to his critics when contacted by Al Arabiya News. “I have a pHD in Islamic Studies from Oxford University, so who’s to say I’m not an Islamic scholar?,” he said. “Why don’t you ask them what qualifications they have?”

He pointed out that Muslim women are prohibited from covering their faces during the hajj pilgrimage to Mecca. “If there’s no obligation to
cover their faces in the holiest places of Islam, why do they feel the need to cover theirfaces in the UK?”

He said there is nothing in the Quran that requires people to mask their faces, and that face veils promotes “genderdisparity”

And one more point was that right to anonymity in public can't be granted.

Who ever wrote this shit quoted something really wrong ..

I was part of this poll and it was around 80% saying do not ban burkas as its a racial discrimination to tell other what to wear and what not too ..

something changed after the poll ended for sure

No it's not wrong about 61%.

Most still want to ban the burka in Britain

.
and it gives more freedom and power to muslim women reducing their dependency on the males.
guess not a lot of muslims want that.

not one poster on .pk,educated or not will support this initiative.

why is that so??

Ban the Burka. But please, don't pass of your bigoted attitude under the guise of 'empowering' women. Interfering to tell someone what they can and cannot wear is usually practised by under developed third rated countries, Britain doesn't need to get as low.

only that britain is fuc king that low and not some 3 rd rate nation which still gives freedom to marry a muslim 4 times.
damn,,people are so ingrateful nowadays

.
If you ban the burka what will be banned next these are dangerous steps
