While US officials are openely critisizing ISI, both Nawaz Sharif and Zardari are busy fighting instead of responding to these allegations.
Well as usual, President Musharraf had to make the statement to reflect the sentiments of ordinary Pakistanis.
Musharraf dismissed allegations that the Inter-Services Intelligence agency has links to Taliban and al-Qaeda.
"I reject them with all my force. ISI is a great organisation, ISI protects and projects our national interest and... it does whatever any other intelligence organisation of the world does," he said.
Many thanks to Allah for a leader like Musharraf who say what people hope to hear from their leaders. Here are the details of chat before departing for China:

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has to fight terrorism with all its might but cannot allow any foreign forces to conduct operations within its territory, former
President Pervez Musharraf said on Sunday.
"I think it's very clear that Pakistan is in danger from terrorism and extremism... We have to fight it with all our will and power but we cannot allow any outsider, any country to intrude across the border into Pakistan," he told reporters at the airport before leaving for China.
Asked about reports that the US is planning to expand its operations against militants in Pakistan's tribal areas, Musharraf said: "Certainly they must not attack across the border. Pakistan has its sovereignty to guard and no outsider has a right to come across the border into Pakistan. We must take a very serious view of anything of this sort."
Replying to another question about calls for his trial on charges of treason for violating the constitution, he replied, "We will cross the bridge when we come to it. We will see when something comes up."

Musharraf also brushed aside demands that he should face trial for ordering a military operation against radical elements holed up in Islamabad's Lal Masjid in July 2007, saying "lots of lies" were being spread about the incident, including claims that hundreds of people were killed by the army.
He said only 93 people were killed in the operation and people claiming the toll was higher should provide proof to back up their contention.
Musharraf, who is visiting China as a guest of the government of that country, said he would also travel to Abu Dhabi before returning to Pakistan in mid-April.
After resigning in August last year to avoid impeachment, Musharraf has been visiting several countries to deliver lectures.
