NEW YORK: Former President General (R) Pervez Musharraf admitted that the NRO was his mistake, but he claimed that no female students or girls were killed in the Lal Masjid tragedy, Geo News reported on Monday.

All Pakistan Muslim League Chief General (retired) Pervez Musharraf was talking to media on the sideline of his party meeting.

He never said that he got Nawab Akbar Bugti murdered, he was not involved in any murder, but when the people talk of cessation, then the state will come into action, Musharraf said.

Former president admitted that the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) was his mistake and on oath claimed that no girl-students or girls were killed in the Lal Masjid tragedy.

He said that back home he would neither seek mercy from anyone nor would beg for pardon. But, he again didn’t give any definite date of his return to the homeland.

Pervez Musharraf said that he would be going to Pakistan before elections where his party by participating in the elections as a third political alternative would change the existing system.

He said that if they provide me the same level of security as he provided to former prime minister Benazir Bhutto during his tenure, he would be pleased. He said that he was prepared to face all eventualities on his return to Pakistan including the cases and the arrest.

Admittance of mistake is not compensation for the mistake. If this was his mistake, then whole Nation has suffered terribly because of his "one admitted"mistake alone. Who will return trillions of looted money that was forgiven at the time of giving NRO and who is going to return trillions that was looted after robbers were allowed to sit in parliaments?

I bet this person will prove security thereat not just for himself and his party but for the election of whole constituency where he would contest. Who's going to organize any political activity for him?

If he was a liar, he never would have accepted so openly that NRO was his fault or never would have lost in a election against criminals?
BTW NRO wasn't so big mistake thn , giving votes to these criminals in power?

NRO was not just a mistake it was a " Blunder " but apart from that i must admit that common public was in a better state in Musharaf's time, atleast they were not naked & hungry.

Musharraf would still be abused if he had not passed NRO or if he had stopped these corrupt politicians for contesting in elections.

If people are so intelligent then they should have not elected the corrupt politicians even after NRO was passed, so why blame NRO or Musharraf. NRO is not a big issue as corruption cases were already continuing for a long time without any outcome.

People are responsible for selecting good leaders in elections. They had voted for PPP, they got democracy, so now they should not complaint.
