Amarullah Saleh is full of BS. He 'CLAIMED' to have said it to Musharraf. There is no way to VERIFY what he said. Besides there is no solid evidence that OBL was killed in Abbottabad.

The reply was sane, the original post by you was not. Terrorists find safe havens throughout the world, not that Mullah Omer is a terrorist. Matter of fact, even the US Government does not consider the Talibaan, whom Mullah Omer leads, as terrorists or adversary.

However, your country not only shelters the mass murderer but raises him to the PM'ship. The supreme mass murderer of all times, Bush Jr., is revered in the USA and then there are many many more similar examples. My point is that, you of all the countries, should not raise fingers at any other country.

Deposed rulers can come back albeit often with outside help. In Afghanistan Shah Shuja was ousted in 1809 by Dost Mohammed Khan Barakzai. Shah Shuja regained his throne in 1839 with the help of the British losing it again 3 years later when British troops departed from Afghanistan.

We are no doubt in 2014, however Taliban are not as strong as ever. Until 2001 Taliban controlled 95% of Afghanistan; now their control is limited to rural areas in the Pashtun belt.

Taliban support comes mainly from the Pashto speaking Afghans. Even in the worst case scenario; after US departs from Afghanistan; Taliban could probably regain control over the Pashtun belt along Pak-Afghan border. Earlier Taliban victories in the Northern half of the country were with the active help of Pakistan military & Pakistani volunteers fighting along side Afghan Taliban. In future Pakistan would not help whereas anti Pashtun Northern Alliance; would receive military support from Iran, India & Tajikistan.

I can’t foresee US letting Taliban recapture Afghanistan without actively helping opposing forces. Therefore should the Ashraf Ghani gov’t fall, two or three way split of Afghanistan as a country would be the most likely result?

Finally, Mulla Omer could be Karachi, but if I were Mulla Omer, I would prefer to hide somewhere near the border. Mulla Omer is originally from Kandhar region. IMO if Mulla Omer is hiding in Pakistan, he is most likely to be somewhere in the Quetta/Chaman border areas.

The committee was further unable to prove that OBL had ever resided in Abbatabad as all circumstantial evidences provided by the US and proof were inconclusive or doctored. The news from the locals is that in Abbatabad, everyone knows everyone else and nobody in the world could have kept such a secret, a secret, for that long. Word from the ground is that it was all staged to give Obama bump in the ratings that he desperately needed for second term.

The only thing that is missing from the link is what Pakistan or our agencies got in return.
