.
The 21st edition of the International Defence Exhibition is held in Kielce/Poland from 2nd to 5th September 2013.

Turkey the honored country for edition 2013 of International Defense Industry Exhibition MSPO

Over 400 exhibitors from as many as 30 countries have already confirmed their presence at this year’s military show. For eight years MSPO has been accompanied with national defence industry exhibitions. Turkey is this year’s star of the show. Germany, France, Israel, the United States, Sweden, the V4 Group Countries as well as Great Britain have already had their presentations. The MSPO 2013 exhibition will be accompanied by the National Exhibition of Turkey.

Turkish exhibition offer promises to be equally rich and abundant. The opening ceremony of the 21st International Defence Exhibition MSPO will be added extra splendour owing the performance of Turkey’s oldest military band – the Mehteran. The Turkish ensemble, in conjunction with Polish Armed Forces Representative Band will be playing the national anthems of Poland and Turkey as well as the Turkish March. The Mehteran is also the oldest Europe’s military orchestra; the ensemble’s presence at the MSPO marks the 90th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Poland and the Republic of Turkey as well as the 2014’s 600th jubilee of diplomatic relations development between our country and the Ottoman Empire.

The expo has been granted the Honorary Patronage of President of Republic of Poland Mr Bronisław Komorowski. The International Defence Industry Exhibition is the forum which brings together potential clients and suppliers; this is also the showcase for the latest military technologies, armaments and products for the army. This is the place where clients can present their needs and expectations; this is the platform for talks and discussions. Business insiders from all over the world establish new contacts and maintain their long-lasting relations with international clients and cooperating parties.

In 1993 the MSPO made its debut; the trade fair was held in only one exhibition hall which was the showcase for merely 85 exhibitors from 5 countries - there were only 8 foreign companies all in all. After 20 years, in 2012 the Exhibition had brought together 400 exhibitors from 29 countries from all corners of the world. The MSPO has also grown to acquire the status of Central Europe's most important event of this kind in addition to the fact that the Exhibition is ranked third on the Old Continent; just after Paris and London shows. Last year's edition enjoyed the attendance of over 13,000 visitors.

The MSPO Expo is of special significance for the Poland's defence industry. For a number of years the MSPO Exhibition has enjoyed the support of the Ministry of National Defence, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Treasury, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland as well as of the Polish Chamber of National Defence Manufacturers. MSPO brings together business sector insiders and professionals who represent Polish Army Staff, the Police, the Ministry of National Defence, the Ministry of Interior, Polish Government as well as foreign delegations.

This trade fair is much more than the exhibition; the event encompasses numerous seminars and conferences. The institutions which support the trade fair as well as the exhibitors have a chance to hold their presentations, symposiums and conferences. The Exhibition of the Polish Armed Forces complemented with dynamic presentations have become an indispensable element of the MSPO Exhibition - the event is organized by the Inspectorate of Support for the Armed Forces in conjunction with the Land Forces and Military Police.

The International Logistics Fair LOGISTYKA is held simultaneously with the MSPO; this is a natural complement to the military show. LOGISTYKA is the showcase for the latest defence logistics achievements as well as for logistics solutions and protection systems designed for public and national security as well as rescue services.

Turkish Hull for Polish howitsers

Poland's Huta Stalowa Wola (HSW) and Turkey's MKEK signed a letter of intent to buy Turkish T-155 Firtina hulls for Poland's Krab self-propelled artillery (SPA) programme at MSPO 2013 on 3 September.
Early examples of the Krab had featured a hull produced by the former Bumar Labedy (now part of Polish Defence Holdings), equipped with a licence-built version of the UK AS90/52 Braveheart turret fitted with a Nexter 155 mm gun. HSW is the prime contractor on the programme.

There are currently eight Krabs, two prototypes and six additional howitzers, which were ordered in May 2008. Poland has since ordered an additional 16 Krab SPAs, which will feature a Rheinmetall main gun
