I disagree that free telecom and electricity should be there. Even free medical should be only conditional. While reliable access is needed , free acceess will make people lazy like in the Islamic countries of Malaysia or Saudi and they go in an other extreme path. Housing, education and food should be made affordable and not free. Job of government is to govern. Religious based imaginary concepts including Ram rajya or madina rajya should be abhorred. It will not work unless you are able to live off oil.
1. I essentially am pointing towards Communism and as I see it Imran's Riyasat-e-Madina program would have been the start towards that objective hence my reference.
2. If the governance system / government cannot provide free access to citizens to the basic human necessities then what is the use of such a governance system ? Where else should the governance invest in if not in the welfare of its citizens ? What do you mean by "Job of the government is to govern" ?
3. If the Saudis are lazy what about the Indians who don't live in a welfare system society since 1947 ? What has been their political and technological contribution to humanity in the 75 years of their existence ?
4. Electricity and telecom are a step below clothing, housing, food and water and all these are basic human rights. Why shouldn't they be free unless that society is in chaos ?
5. About your point that healthcare should be "conditional" I posted this screenshot yesterday in another thread. India's healthcare has always been conditional - Have money, will treat :
