More Indian troops at border with Bangladesh than Pakistan

Contrary to the high threat perception at the border with Pakistan, more border security forces are deployed at the India-Bangladesh border, the Rajya Sabha was informed on Wednesday.

In a written reply, Minister of State for Home Affairs, Kiren Rijiju said that a total of 480 companies of Border Security Force (BSF) were deployed at the India-Bangladesh border, as compared to 411 companies guarding the border with Pakistan.

Each company comprises of three platoons and each platoon has about 35 soldiers. A company is commanded by a Company Commander who is a Major or Lieutenant-Colonel.

Furthermore, 136 companies of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) were guarding the border with China while 60 companies of the Assam Rifles were protecting the border with Myanmar.

A total of 162 companies of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) were deployed at the India-Nepal border and 97 at the India-Bhutan border.

"The International borders of India are not uniform in character. They have different physical features, terrain and climate conditions along with different threat perceptions. Therefore, the ideal number of personnel required to guard the borders varies from border to border and sector to sector,” Rijiju said.

“The deployment of border guarding forces in the international borders is reviewed and suitably calibrated by the Home Affairs Ministry in consultation with the forces from time to time. Recently, the BSF has deployed 18 additional companies on the international border in Punjab,” he added.

If the Partition policy is to be believed- then Any non-Muslim has the moral authority to demand shelter and citizenship in India unless they are the new converts after 1947- As far as Muslims are concerned they are the ones who left India- did It by choice and can never be granted Indian citizenship unless they integrate their country back with India- as far as 71 war victim Bengali refugees are concerned yes they were allowed refugee status only to return back after the war- India is only for Indian Muslims who rejected Pakistan and not for those who left and formed Pakistan in first place- If those Muslim accept their mistake and reject Pakistan then may be we can consider-

India under the UN refugee convention is obligated to give asylum to people being persecuted due to their '...race, religion, ethnicity, nationality, membership of a particular social group or political opinion...', not for economic opportunities!!!
If Bangladeshis want to come here to work then they can always take legal routes. Nepalis, Bhutanese and many other nationalities come here and work for their living.
Minuscule number it may be, but if India has a phobia against Muslims there won't be over 30000 Afghan and 40000 Rohingya refugees in India.

Pakistan long back proved those Hindus wrong when it adopted an Islamic constitution. I hear Pak first anthem was made by an Hindu and even he was asked to fled to India by his own friends...

So Muslims of that countries asked for Partition. They had it. And that's it. They shouldnt migrate "illegally". Legally they can do. When Italians can become citizens, why not Bangladeshis legally?

But we are not a home for them. For Hindus, minorities, Shia's and Ahmedia we are and will accept them.

Adnan sami was not hindu, next time you post such stuff back it up with facts. Only reason there are more muslims in india bcos of indias tolerance. Pakistan on the other hand was hypocritical right from start, they dont even treat their own citizens fairly.
