ISLAMABAD: Fans and colleagues of ace comedian and actor Moin Akhtar are observing third death anniversary of the versatile artist today (Tuesday) to pay tribute to him.

Moin Akhtar entered the showbiz in 1960s and continued ruling various fields of performing arts with his spontaneous performances.

He was born in Karachi on December 24, 1950 and his mother tongue was Urdu but he performed with command in many other languages including Bengali, Sindhi and Gujrati.

Akhtar, who was a singer and host as well, performed over 1,000 different characters successfully in over 900 television dramas and stage shows.

He also worked in three films.

His most popular dramas were “Rozi”, “Mirza Aur Hameed”, “Half Plate” and “Aangan Tehra”.

His most popular TV shows were: “Fifty Fifty”, “Show Sha”, “Studio Dhhai”, “Studio Pone Teen”, “Moin Akhter Show” and “Loose Talk”.

Moin Akhtar was suffering from a heart disease during the last days of his life that eventually lead to his death on April 22, 2012. He was laid to rest in Karachi.

He is survived by his wife, three daughters and two sons. – SAMAA
