Mohammed Ali hit back at Donald Trump recently

sounds more like Mohammed Ali called out the extremist elements within Islam rather that 'hit back' at Trump.

Trump is big on boxing and knew him, they were friends:

People need to get over this Trump phobia/hate, Trump does not hate all muslims, or think that they're all terrorists, but he's just very not-PC when he talks about it. There was a show on CNN earlier when they interviewed one of his real estate partners (and probably a friend who knows him well) in Dubai and they were really trying to get him to say something and get a big anti-Trump headline..... got nothing, apart from some token condemnation, or more like a show of token disappointment "the world is very beautiful, if I cant go America, I can go many places" (I paraphrase, he was actually a very sophisticated well spoken guy). He knew the 'muslim ban' will never happen, Trump does not even intend for it, he's actually backed away since, saying that it was "just a suggestion"

point being, the developer sheikh basically shrugged if off as a political tactic meant for local consumption and aimed at a certain segment (far right) of US society (republican primary voters), which is exactly what it was ! he outflanked everyone on the right with that type of bombast and no one, not even the genuinely scary evangelical nutjob, Ted Cruz, dared to go that far, and he beat him.

and we should all thank god for that, in fact he's even to the left of Hillary Clinton when it comes to US foreign intervention and their wars in the middle east, on many occasions he has made very specific mention and expressed deep sorrow and anger for all the lives lost, on the other side. and he is correct when he blames Hillary Clinton for a lot of it !
