Modi's victory

No but i am sure India can teach the world how to get ruled by a mass murderer.
Dumb answer by the so called TT, it's not exactly Pakistani source pointing fingers at you... is it.

The fact remains that esteemed members like you have no interest in understanding the godhra riots... In your opinion it was some state sponsored genocide as you find it normal phenomenon in your government track record... Thus the obfuscation of a tragic riot to being branded as mass murdered... no such parallels are drawn between Governor Pete Wilson for rodney king riots, or even Gen Ayub Khan for the famed east pak riots of 1964....

But then again you are not here for any discourse, rather it's to point what heinous leader we have elected...
As far as pointing fingers at us, who is... lets see which nations dare to cut-off relation with India... even better, if wise pakistanis think so with as fierce convictions as you and azlan have shown, cut off all diplomatic relations with India....

There is a tendency to portray this clinching victory in different intellectual corners as a a rise of extremist feelings among Indian masses which is not entirely true. There worked three apparently distinct but mutually linked factors which reduced Congress,a national party just merely above a regional party in terms of seats gained and allowed BJP to be strong enough to form a government of its own.
First and the most deciding factor played was the anti establishment factor. In this age of communication revolution when almost every educated Indian can afford mobile internet, television is not an object for amusement only for the riches it is difficult to keep people even in the most remote and inaccessible part of India, unaware of the scams happening in the corridors of ministries far in Delhi. The series of corruption both in civilian and military form made the decision making difficult for the ministers and public hated this policy crippling.
Second factor that held enormous weight in this election was the lack of good orators in the UPA camp. Even the most staunch cadre of Congress party can claim that Sonia Gandhi or Rahul can communicate well with the en mass. Manmohan Singh may be a good economist but there was no need for intellectuals in PM office. On the other hand, look at BJP office. Sushma Swaraj,Jaitley, Ravi Shankar Prasad, all these are brilliant orators. These folks can debate and outflank any Congressi leader on any day any time.
Third and one of the most fatal mistake congress made was they didn't understand the pulse of the people. After the massive economic depression after which every economy of the world faced serious challenges Indian economy too slowed down though the effect came a few months later. No body from the party bothered to make people understand the reason behind the slow growth rate in the last few years. While Modi continued to cash in his success story in Gujarat and promising Indians to make this country walking on the path of South Korea, Congress office led by an economist chose to sit deaf and dumb.

People of India are not necessarily anti Muslim nor this result proves that we are heading towards a Fascist regime. It is too early to say at this moment. Contrary to the certain beliefs which are showing up since yesterday, a majority voted against the previous regime not against a secular, liberal spirit of democracy of India.
Even in Muslim heartlands, Modi racks up gains

dramaqueen will teach us both democracy and secularism. :omghaha::omghaha::omghaha:

oh mi gaad dramaqueen. Aren't you happy with your Noora League and their Patwaris. :omghaha::omghaha:

There are plenty of reasons to be worried about the future. The future Modi is a terrifying prospect if he is based on the past Modi.

In power, the BJP candidate displayed an alarming disregard for the rule of law, was blamed for exploiting dozens of barely-investigated extra-judicial killings for political gain, swept away criticism of his crony capitalism, surrounded himself with religious zealots and exaggerated his role in economically developing his home state. Plus, comments made by his key allies during the election campaign illustrate that a Modi government will be much less tolerant of criticism, hostile towards press freedom, and further polarize the country along religious lines.

In 2010, Modi's right-hand man and the Home Minister for Gujarat, Amit Shah, was forced to resign after he was charged over allegations of murder, conspiracy, kidnapping and extortion by the CBI. But during the current election campaign he was by Modi's side, making inflammatory speeches where he talked of "revenge" for the riots in 2002 and telling voters to reject parties with Muslim candidates.

One key BJP leader, Giriraj Singh, said critics of Modi had a "place in Pakistan and not in India." Another campaign ally, Pravin Togadia, who is president of the BJP's sister-organization, the VHP, said Muslim households should be "evicted" from Hindu areas.

Modi didn't condemn any of these remarks .......

Democratically elected leader raises fear and uncertainty about future, where were your apprehensions when your country keeps propping up dictatorial regimes every 5-8 years? How come military autocracies famed for ill planned military misadventures, nuclear proliferation, asymmetric warfare, and genocides doesn't make you bat an eyelid, but a Chief minister who had riots in his constituency is a cause of concern...

for amit shah;
As usual you have got the facts as well as context regarding Amit Shah revenge wrong... it was with reference to Muzaffar nagar riots under mulayam singh yadav (apparently kosher despite riots under his watch) and not Godhr...And call for revenge was not by blowing up people in riots but to take "badla" by "badlav"; it vote to avenge the riots by change in admin, so next government will ensure peace and progress....

As far as freedom of press in concerned, rest assured neither barkha dutt or arnab will get shot. business will remain as usual... It all goes back to value of constitution, which being an alien concept seems to difficult for you to comprehend. Indian democratic institutions are safeguarded by the constitution of India, which is much more than just a piece of paper for us
.
Giriraj singh makes gaffe's may I remind you of your ex-interior minister... At-least I am sure G Singh wont be getting a cabinet post.

As far as modis take on the electoral rhetoric is concerned, He did condemn singhs comment, and amit shah was sent a notice by the EC and he abided by the same apologizing to EC and assuring that no such comments will be made in future.

Mr Modi PM elect is a person who believes in INDIA FIRST- anyone who subscribes to this principle will be inducted in the Central Government Cabinet- irrespective of race, religion, culture and caste.
The NDA signed off in 2004 with 8.4 percent growth, while the UPA will be signing off at growth rates below 5 percent.

Commonsense is not what you see in front of your eyes, Its a gift of seeing whats in front of others eyes....

lets see,

illigal immigrants go back to bangladesh, well we all agree on this
Extra-judicial killings, sir there have been more extra-judicial killings in uttar pradesh, bihar, maharashtra also, no inquire because they are congress led states(or supporters)
Amit Shah, yes he is a bratt, but so does congress and SP have such bratts ( Kamal nath, google his past)
Modi as extremist, Sir India is in a poor poor state of economy, we want someone who can give us hope to survive, he has promised us communal harmoney and believe me u, if he acts communal people of India will be the first one to bring him down.

Is Modi's victory in the recent elections indicative of an increasing inclination of Indian masses towards extremism?

What do Indian members (who blame Pakistani's for supporting Taliban) have to say about full Indians support to a known terrorist directly engaged in mass murder of thousands of Muslims and Christians?
(No Trolling please)

No, it shows Indians are more interested in DEVELOPMENT than DYNASTIC POLITICS!
