The modern (new Persian) Persian language is spoken in mutually intelligible varieties throughout Iran, Afghanistan, and in Central Asia in Tajikistans and Uzbekistan (among the Tajik minority).

Actually, during those times, Khorasan and Transoxiana (central asia and Afghanistan) were not home to Persian speakers, but to speakers of other Iranic languages like Sogdian, Khorezmian and Bactrian. Non-persian Iranic languages like Pashto, Pamiri languages (like Wakhi Shughni and Sarikoli ), and Yaghnobi (descendant of Sogdian) still exist in parts of Tajikistan, Afghanistan, and Pakistan, but the majority of the other Iranic languages were replaced by Persian during the Islamic conquests. (Yaghnobi is confined to a small pocket)

Old Persian (spoken during the Achaemenids) was limited to native speakers in modern day Iran and so was Middle Persian (spoken during the Sassanian empire). After Alexander the Great's invasion various Sogdian Kingdoms and the Bactrian Kingdom split off.

It was during the Islamic conquest that new (modern) Persian developed with the influenced of Arabic on vocabulary and syntax. This variety of Persian was established in Islamic times in Afghanistan and Central asia in Transoxania. The Samanids were a Persian Muslim dynasty which played a role in formulating thise new Persian language in central asia (modern day Uzbekistan and Tajikistan). The Iranic speakers of languas like Sogdian, Khorezmian, and Bactrian became Persianized and they became the ancestors of the Tajiks and Farsiwans.

Farsi became a lingua franca among Muslim peoples including Turkic peoples in the transoxania, sogdia, central asia region where modern day Uzbekistan and Tajikistan are because of Islam. Farsi was also spead as a court language to India because of the Islamic conquests again. The Chagatai literary Turkic language was influenced by Farsi and Turkic leaders like Babur spoke Farsi.

Farsi was also an important language along with Arabic among Muslims in China with several Islamic texts written in it. It was learned alongside Arabic by Chinese Muslims and was also taught as a foreign language at the office of translators in China the Ming dynasty. It was called the "Muslim language" by the Chinese government.

The Islamic conquests played a bigger role than the pre Islamic Persian empires in establishing Persian as a literary prestige language and lingua franca beyond the borders of Iran. Farsi is a major world language because of them. The pre Islamic Persian Empires never took the Persian langauge as far as India.

The national language of Pakistan, Urdu, and other languages like Pakistani Sindhi, Pakistani Punjabi and Pashto have far more loan words from Persian than Arabic. Yet the Pakistanis are taught to venerate and worship the Muslim Arabs and denounce Persian influence..

The most rare (rarest of rare in Pakistan or perhaps even the whole Muslim world) objective and truthful speech was made by Hassan Nisar, a rare breed in Pakistan, of right thinking and truth seeking individuals, who says how Pakistanis are treated like slaves in just newly become rich Muslim Arab countries in this video and how well they are treated in non-Muslim secular Western countries.

google ---- Hassan Nisar on pakistanis and arabs.

Pakistan has a very bright future even if 20% of Pakistan thinks like Hasan NIssar.

I will tend to agree with you on this. When a nation digresses from its traditions and culture, it faces similar fate.

Urdu developed because of multicultural Mughal army. It is due to this reason it inherits the capability of absorbing, virtually, words from any language of the world. Thus it can be termed as a living and growing language. It has influence of persian due to high number of Persian speaking in Mughal army. In fact at one point in time Persian was considered to be language of intellectuals in sub-continent. On the other hand, Arabic has been of great interest to muslims because Quran is Arabic and in order to understand its correct meaning Muslims studied it. I will not deny the fact that there is no shortage of people who learn Arabic considering it to be of religious obligation or something like that.

Well, there is difference between illiterate and uneducated.

The point I was making is that the Persian language was not spread by the ancient pre Islamic Persian empires, but was spread to other regions, catapulted to the status of a lingua franca and a world language because of the Islamic conquests.

The Persian Achaemenid, and Sassanian Empires did not spread the Persian language even to other parts of their empire like Khorasan, Bactria, Sogdia (Transoxania), and Khwarezm, where local non-Persian Iranic languages were spoken. It was only after the Islamic conquest that those areas became Farsi speaking and thats how modern Tajiks/Farsiwans appeared.

Farsi also spread to Central Asia, India, and China because of Islam and influenced other languages like Ottoman Turkish and Urdu also because of Islam.

Elamite and Akkadian languages were both used by the Achaemenids alongside Old Persian and the Achaemenids even adopted Aramaic as an official language and Lingua Franca, therefore, Old Persian wasn't that widespread in the Achaemenid Empire and not a prestigious language.

In the Parthian Empire and Sassanian Empire, Aramaic kept its status as a lingua franca and a major language besides Middle Persian, thats why neo aramaic communities still live in Iraq today. (The Parthian Empire was founded by non-Persian Parthians who spoke a non-Persian Iranic language called Parthian)

In all of those pre-Islamic Persian Empires, the Persian language was not natively spoken in areas of those empires outside of Iran and other languages like Aramaic competed with it for the status of lingua franca and official language.

Thanks to the Islamic conquests Persian language became widespread and natively spoken in transoxania, khwarezm, khorasan and it itself became a lingua franca and official language in many states.

Were those Islamic conquests idiots?

Why didn't they spread their own language?

I forgot to add a paragraph which will make the context of my post clearer.

The modern (new Persian) Persian language is spoken in mutually intelligible varieties throughout Iran, Afghanistan, and in Central Asia in Tajikistans and Uzbekistan (among the Tajik minority).

Some people think that Tajiks/Farsiwans exist in Central Asia (Tajikistan and Uzbekistan) and Afghanistan because of the ancient Persian Empires like the Achaemenids, Parthians and Sassanians. Its not true, Tajiks/Farsiwans exist there because of the Islamic conquests and Muslim Empires.

Old Persian (spoken during the Achaemenids) was limited to native speakers in modern day Iran and so was Middle Persian (spoken during the Sassanian empire). After Alexander the Great's invasion various Sogdian Kingdoms and the Bactrian Kingdom split off. The Achaemenids and Sassanians ruled those areas through vassals and allowed them to retain their own non-Persian Iranic languages.

No, you are the only idiot. Religion was shared but customs, cultures remained the same wherever Islam went. You should know though considering there are more Muslims in China than Syria.

stupid logic. What I said has nothing to with religion. It is a common sense. If you conquered others, you would want them speak your language. See those examples, how many country speak English.
