Mitsubishi ATD-X ShinShin: To Fly This Year !

. . . .
Not the chinese ones. I thought China had a different variant of design.

J31 literally looks like a F22, F35 hybrid.

J20 share some things, but it looks unique mostly.

Pretty much all of the upcoming designs have design elements from American ones.

The Japanese one looks like a stealthier F15 to be honest.

He he.

All the new next gen fighters are starting to look the same.
Not the same. Predictable.

All these countries that dared ventured into the so-called '5th gen' fighter category learned from US. They bypassed the F-117, which was essentially an operational experiment into the idea of low radar observability. With the B-2 and F-22, curvatures are the norm for any attempt, which will lend at least one familiar feature between designs. Another predictable feature is twin canted vertical stabs. Another is ogive-like shaping for the fuselage. And so on...

I am not sure what kind of engine that Japan ATD-X is going to use...
Japan don`t have military jet engine and military radar
Japan may need to buy from USA..

Wrong, when I was still too young to have an erection and all the Chinese engineers were still out in the farm plowing the rice field, Japan had already developed an indigenous AESA radar for its F-2.

That's right. Afterall, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries is quite well rounded:

Btw, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries even has capabilities in producing this;

Atacama Large Millimeter Array, joint-produced with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries ;)
