Minor gang-raped to avenge poll defeat, commits suicide in UP

Lucknow: A class 11 student committed suicide after she was gang-raped by two men from the same village in Mirzapur district.

Police inaction in the case is also said to be one of the reasons behind the suicide.

According to a report by the Times of India, the victim, who was daughter of a winning woman block development council (BDC) candidate, was gang-raped by her mother's political rivals.

The girl's relative have alleged that police inaction and refusal to register an FIR drove the girl to take the extreme step on Friday, two days after she was raped. It was only after that the girl committed suicide, the police swung into action and arrested the two accused.

Reports say that the girl was abducted by the two accused on Wednesday night when she was alone at home. She was dragged to the nearby fields and raped. The girl narrated whole incident to her parents when she returned home.

Cops have arrested both the accused Pappu Bahelia and Bindu Bahelia.

Pnchayat poll rivalry took a hideous turn in a village in Mirzapur district when the minor daughter of a winning woman block development council (BDC) candidate was allegedly gang-raped by her mother's rivals. She later killed herself following police inaction.

Sources said the daughter of the BDC member was allegedly raped by two men of a rival group on Wednesday night. When the police refused to file an FIR against the accused who had been named, the depressed girl committed suicide on Friday. It was only after her death that cops arrested the two accused.
The girl, a class 11 student, was kidnapped on Wednesday by two men when she was asleep in her house. They took her to a field and raped her. She returned home and told her mother about the assault and also named the two accused as those belonging to her mother's rival group," sources said.




On Thursday, the BDC member along with her daughter and other family members went to the police station to lodge a complaint. But, the girl's mother said, instead of taking down the complaint, the police gave only verbal assurances and asked them to return home. Traumatized and humiliated, the girl hanged herself in her house.
Cops finally lodged an FIR against Pappu Bahelia and Bindu Bahelia under relevant sections of IPC and POCSO Act 2012 and arrested both of them. The girl's body was sent for postmortem.

Contacted on Saturday, Mirzapur SP Arvind Sen admitted that the girl was gang-raped to avenge poll defeat. He told TOI that the accused were relatives of the losing candidate in BDC election. On the delay in police FIR, he said that the matter was being investigated and action would be taken in this regard.

The 18-year-old boy was involved in bestiality, a sexual offence in which an animal is used as a medium to satisfy ones sexual desires. Presently, The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) is treating teenager, who confessed to have indulged in sex with calves. His parents rushed him to the hospital, after coming to know about their son's strange behaviour. An Indian man has been arrested for having sex with an injured cow using coconut oil as a lubricant, local reports have stated.

Muthu, aged between 50 and 55, was seen with the animal, which was lying injured on a railway track, in the south Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

Local police officer Jayavelu confirmed Muthu, who goes by only one name, had been arrested under Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code, which bans 'unnatural sexual offences'. Muthu confessed to the crime and was placed in police custody.

The episode was seen by representatives of Blue Cross of India (BCI), an NGO working for animal welfare.

Officials at the BCI received a report about an injured mammal and approached the scene. Its volunteers were initially confused when they saw Muthu alongside the cow.

Dawn Williams of the BCI told IBTimes UK: "We were initially unsure of what the man was doing to the cow. When we went further and took a closer look, we realised this man was inserting his penis into cow's vagina. There was a bottle of coconut oil kept beside him, which he used as a lubricant."

Williams said the offender attempted to flee the scene and was apprehended by the volunteers. Later, Muthu is said to have asked to be pardoned for the act.

The cow was sent for medical examination and the veterinary hospital has confirmed the animal had been abused. The cow is generally considered holy in India and is worshipped in several parts of the country.
