Military Cautioned Against Spending Spree In Bangladesh

The silence from the usual quarter after being disproved and having their backsides handed to them, only proves my point about labelling and boxing people they disagree with up.

That's all they can bring to the discussion and vitriol.

.
Guess who is controlling the puppetry from behind the screens? Asking the armed forces to 'tamp down' activity, thinking that Bangladesh might become an 'uncontrollable threat'??

Armed services should do what it needs, stay on course - and not listen to unsolicited 'Covid' excuses. They are plenty sensible and have a much better governance structure than the rest of the Govt. administration.

Just listen to her, nod nicely, and then continue to stay on course....
Such remark from her is unexpected and certainly not welcome. I am unable to understand suddenly why she said so. For the first time I am disturbed. I hope she will not directly interfere in military matter .

. .
But of course, I'm a BAL supporter, seeing as they can't counter the questions I raise, they must discredit me by putting me in a box.

Shame on you, Pathetic hypocrite.
Brother ,you don't need to be defensive and quote your own post as evidence that you are not BAL supporter . It will only make you look weak. Just ignore those fools who like to tag people. Just pay no attention to them.

. .
I think the report is false. The defense budget has been raised to $4.1 billion to meet the growing spending by the armed forces. By the by, who is this Amar Khan?

He is the very personification of BAF's ineptitude when it comes to choosing and sticking to an Aircraft.

The "news" is sourced from Amra Khan's rear end.

He is using Covid as an excuse to clean his slate on the past, idiotic MRCA hoaxes he propagated to garner cheap attention.

In the link below is an old compilation of his definitive claims ("xx ARE coming", etc..) on MRCAs:

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said the government may not be able to implement the national budget fully if the worldwide economic recession continues or worsen further.
“Although it was passed to chase the government’s development targets, it might not be possible to implement the budget fully if the worldwide economic recession continues or worsen further,” she said.
The Prime Minister came up with the statement while addressing the inaugural event of the Armed Forces Selection Board-2020 through a videoconference from Ganabhaban on Monday, reports UNB.
The chiefs of the three services and other high officials got connected from their respective headquarters.
“This’s true we’ve given a huge budget…it’s not correct to think we’ll spend all the money right now. This is also a question how much money we’ll be able to provide,” Sheikh Hasina said.
The Prime Minister also asked all to exercise austerity in spending public money.
“We’ll keep the expenditures except the very essential ones on hold temporarily reducing the expenses to some extent. We’ll do these (less important expenditures) things when the good days will come back,” she said.
Urging all not to fear in advance, she said, “We’ll have all the arrangements and preparations. We’ll do as much as we can. It’s our target.”
Hasina mentioned that the government placed this budget as it has a target to make Bangladesh a poverty-free country in the Mujib Year.
She said the government had a target of 8.2 per cent GDP growth in the last fiscal year and 7.8 per cent growth was also achieved till April last, but it finally came down to 5.8 per cent at the end of the last fiscal year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Even then, Hasina added, the government has continued its efforts and extended support to different sectors as much as possible. “So, we’ve not made less allocation in the budget.”
“In the case of expenditures, all will have to spend (from the allocations) in a limited way…. we’ll have to calculate right now how much money we'll be able to collect and spend in this economic situation. I would like to ask all even our Armed Forces – three services—to do so.”
The Prime Minister said although there was an apprehension that the country’s reserve of foreign currency declined, now it has increased to US$ 39.4 billion.

So surely such thing did not come from Amra Khan's rear end. I believe nothing is more important that defence development . If we immediately can not upgrade air force , we will be screwed up . So no excuse , even the excuse of covid - 19 is not acceptable. Our our airforce is weak and we need to develop it right now. What else can be more essential than to defend the sovereignty that was achieve at the expense of countless martyrs?

It is one thing to exercise overall austerity and something on another level to cut military budget by an unelected regime that too during a crisis.

We are reading a bit too much into this, when she asked them to tighten up expenses, it could mean anything, not necessarily referring to the defence acquisitions and purchases.

Sometimes, you say things just for the sake of having something to say, for example, everytime BAF gets new toys, she says 'be careful when flying them, for they're bought with the hard-earned money of the people'...

This could just another instance of her just saying this for the sake of it and remember she said don't spend 'unnecessarily' and that underscores the fact that anything considered essential will be acquired on a priority basis.

We keep forgetting that the allocation for MRCA had already been made from the previous financial year's budget as announced by the president in the parliament and same with the attack helicopters.

So let's just wait and see rather than trying to make sense of the bits and pieces, we have at hand right now.

.
Lets milk the corrupt BAL leaders such as GK Shamim and all the parliamentary representatives. I mean even an illiterate local snitch from Chatra League is able to launder 2,000 crores. So you can imagine how much the rest of them have in their lockers. But of course our honorable Leadership will not apprehend the party minions but will put the army to the sword. Shameful.

That is exactly my point. The military is the last entity she would mess with.

I wish you are 100% correct brother . I do not want any unwise decision from her and I hope she will never take it . She is wise administrator I believe , and we need her to stay in power and to develop military alongside with country's other important things .

Before she dies, she needs to wipe out jamatis, jamat and relegate all Madrasas to religious teaching only.

A Madrasa can never train you in marketable skills, it is not a university, and Madrasa degrees shouldn't be considered equivalent to regular degrees.

When people study in Madrasas only, skipping normal schooling, they end up like the few you see on here and the ones in BD starting rumors and pogroms against minorities and other Muslim who doesn't agree with their pig faced peer, preacher or whatever.

These mullahs are in it for the money, I have caught Glimpses of their lies, they will read verses from Qur'an and deliver translation in Urdu, anybody with even basic Arabic knowledge will know they're deliberately altering the interpretation to suit their own monetary needs.

Jamati Islami and crooked waz mahfil hosting mullahs go hand in hand, they come from the same line of thinking from Madrasas.

Religion and politics should never mix, that's why I as a person who was tired of seeing jamat make a mockery of the religion, was very happy when jamat got banned and well known jamati cum razakar troublemakers hanged.

With every executed Jaamti, Bangladesh becomes a better place.

Note: I'm not talking about BNP.

Just listen to her, nod nicely, and then continue to stay on course....

And how will they do that if defense and finance ministry don't approve purchase and funding?

Try to ignore him when he goes bonkers every time on anything about BAF or SAK. Even when the original news is not from SAK. Seeing that for one year at least. It looks like some PDF members are in some kinda illusion that Hasina will upset military leadership if she reduces expenses but these officers are far more mature-sensible than them. They understand the situation far better than these guys.

Remember General Aziz remark during answering question on Apache deal? If economy gets stronger military will get more modern weapon. If economy collapse military will get GHANTA. 👍 Besides i don't remember Khaleda's head rolling on street for fucking up frigate, fighter jet program and buying weapons from Pakistan when there were lot better supplier available. Looks like some PDF members is expecting that BD will turn into our two neighbors in East and West. People should notice how Thai authority faced backlash from their people for moving forward with submarine plan in this crisis.

And no matter what some members say here every major parties participated in 2018 election including BNP who often said they won't participate under Hasina's regime. Even Rizvi said BAL rigged election in only 20% center, so Hasina won fair and square in 80% center. So calling BAL unelected regime is a ridiculous statement.
